Consider me jealous. There is no better place to watch a game than South Bend. Glad Austin was able to play again this past weekend and will be able to run through the tunnel one more time with his Gold helmet shining in the sun. After the Michigan game last season I thought he was on his way to being a star safety but unfortunately he has not been able to shake the injury bug. Very sorry that he had to endure so much over his time but I'm sure he would not change his time with ND for anything. He was a warrior at Highlands and his ability to remain positive throughout shows the sign of great character. Safe travels Oldtime.

 

Agree.....to get hurt the Thursday before the opening game is terrible luck....then again with his shoulder........was very happy to see his TD last week but I would guess he would trade it for the W.....

 

Every year you kind of go to see one or two seniors honored.......Tao, Rudolph, Zorich......etc......this year AC is definitely one of them.......

Does the CCH sideline smell like lemon? My hi def monitor seems to show me that it was sprayed with lemon juice......at least with something yellow......

As one of the parents who assisted in trying to clear the stands of the 5+ inches of snow, I must say that the thought of not clearing the visitor's section of the stands crossed our minds....

 

All kidding aside, the playing surface at DCM Stadium will be ready to go Friday night. As for the stands, let's hope for some sunlight and warmer temps this week so the job can be completed.

 

The regular season meeting in September means absolutely nothing, other than the game is in Fort Thomas on Friday night vs. Park Hills on Saturday.

 

Although the cold temps may slightly impact the passing games on both sides, I think the game, as is often the case in late season, cold weather venues, will be decided in the trenches. Whichever team can control the LOS on both sides will be playing next week in the 4A state semi-finals.

Guy in the Orange Buggy is BGP one and only Thunderbirds trying out his new toy...and the guy on the tractor is one and only Dale...

Spectators watched as these two plowed the field, TBirds used the straight line up and back approached as Dale was all over the place driving in circles at times and making one only to guess what his next move would be:lol2:

 

At times you could hear a voice heard mumbling the phrases..."this tractor is sooooooo sloooow!!!!" and "I would shovel this field by hand just for a chance to Beat CovCath!!!!"

I agree with this post yet would add that I believe HHS has a mental edge particularly should CCH get off "on the wrong foot." It will take a very special effort for CCH if early in the game they get down a couple of scores to not fall into the ....here we go again trap..

 

Conversely I believe HHS cannot rely heavily upon the previous successes as this too could be detrimental to their mindset. My hope is for decent weather, no injuries, good officiating and of course a HHS win! Just sayin.

Never heard that one before...how exactly does a fella get the snow off the field if you can't shovel it? Somebody feeding RCC a line of bull...

 

Besides, what is it going to hurt if they tear it up, its 15 yrs old and going to get replaced in Feb...maybe I will make a pitch to the powers to be to install heated elements under the new field in the event we get any snow in the future and then nobody will have to plow it...:thumb:
