November 14, 201411 yr W I do allow my kids to try and make their own decisions so they can pick what they may like and allow them to hopefully make smart decisions later in life. . Most parents "try" to let their kids make decisions. That's not the question. Do you let your kids make their own decisions regardless if you think it's a harmful decision?

I played football and wasn't harmed so I don't think its a harmful decison. My girl wants to cheerlead, that is dangerous, more so than what people think. But I'm going to let her because who am I to say she can't.
November 14, 201411 yr her father So I tell my little girl she can cheer after she cries and really wants to and doesnt want to play basketball or soccer, just cheer. yeah Im the father and I will let her since she wants to because its her choice and life to see if she likes it. I wont make my kids play or quit if they want to do something. If my kids enjoy playing then Im letting them.

Let's say she says "Dad, I'm going out with my friends to a party at a house where the parents are away for the weekend. How do you like my form-fitting shape-showing not-covering-any-of-the-thighs skirt I'm wearing? Hurry and tell me because Bobby will be here soon. I hope his wife doesn't know we're together." Laissez-faire approach still working for you?

November 14, 201411 yr That's a bit of a stretch' date=' don't you think?![/quote'] So are other parental decisions being thrown our there in comparison to sports and cheerleading.
November 14, 201411 yr How is this controversial? The FACTS say that football is dangerous and the head injuries have long lasting effects. Why should we criticize a man for doing what is best for his son? My son plays football now, in 2nd grade, and will continue to play as of right now.
November 14, 201411 yr That's a bit of a stretch, don't you think?! What other possible scenario could there be if LeBron doesn't let his kids play football? It obviously ends with them choosing the gay over football. The worst part is, that actually sounds logical to him.

Hopefully he never lets his kids leave the house or ride in a car. He better never let his kids have a cell phone, may cause cancer He better make sure his kids eat the right foods, no junk food, may cause cancer or heart disease. Better put a pillow/bed rails at bottom of bed, may roll out and get brain damage Those all listed are facts that happen too.
