How a parent of a kid could say what he said to you when your son was laying on the ground is absolutely incredible. So glad to hear he is OK...
November 19, 201411 yr My stepson decided after playing Grades 1-6 that he didnt want to play any longer. He is a pretty good athlete and was a very talented football player. It was kind of disappointing to his mom and myself but we both agree it is probably for the best. He is strictly basketball now and even though there is a chance of being hurt (ankle, knee, concussion, etc) the chances are not as great as in football. The sad thing is there are parents who make their kids feel like GARBAGE if they dont play football. You see it every season, a kid who has no business out there and doesnt want to be out there and gets blown up or screws up plays. All you have to do is look at his parents and how they act during the games and it all makes sense. You did the right thing Q. I have always said that if you MAKE your son play football when he does NOT want to, I think that is child abuse. You are basically forcing your kid to be physically hit many times per week. Football is not for everyone obviously. Making a kid play football when he does not want to is MUCH worse than not letting him play when does want to.
November 19, 201411 yr Have not read through all the post, but my personnal take on this is, I don't care what Lebron allows his kids to do or not do, that is his choice as a parent and it shouldn't be anyone elses concern, talk, twitter, facebook, football forums or anything otherwise.

Playing basketball sure did Kevin Ware good. If God wants you hurt, then you will get hurt, if not, then you wont. So will Lebron allow his kids to drive a car, people get killed in cars everyday. Will he allow his kids to go outside, people get shot/kidnapped randomly everyday. Did you make your kids go to church? I did and they didn't like it some Sundays.
