Dude- seriously- you don't think if there were a young man capable of playing QB- at any weight- that he wouldn't be made a QB? I'm pretty sure the coaches know what they have. Thanks for the concern though.

I met a qb like Durham. Then again we are talking about CovCath. So only 3 kids are capable of playing qb?This is an all boys school correct?

Like when Cov Cath beat them like a drum every time they played. That seemed to serve them well.

WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Johnson Central High School, Paintsville.

 

WHAT TO WATCH: CovCath beat Greenup County, 39-8, in the first round, while Johnson Central hammered Harrison County 67-14. The Colonels have rolled over the Golden Eagles the last two years in the second round of the playoffs (42-14 in 2013 and 45-15 in '12).

 

Johnson Central's record is impressive and the Golden Eagles are always well coached, but it's tough to tell how talented they are because of the schedule they play. Acclimating to the speed and physicality of the Colonels has been a problem the last few years for them. They always have a handful of talented rushers and run a disciplined system that requires toughness at the line of scrimmage on the defensive side to stop. The Colonels will need big games out of their defensive linemen such as senior Chandler Brooks and junior Jacob Steins, who made a big impact last week in the win over Greenup County, plus senior Nate Bailey who should be returning from injury. The Colonels have a lot of questions on offense after senior quarterback Adam Wagner went down with an injury in the first round.

Went to a West Virginia vs Virginia Tech game a while ago with a friend. Lots of hunting gear being worn in the stands. I told him that I didn't know West Virginia's team colors were camo!

Maybe CovCath should move a kid with some size at qb who can take a pounding. All their qbs are in 5'11 to 6'1 170 pound range. They plenty of kids that are 6'3 200 pounds.

 

SK just needs to worry about a 5'11 160 QB Walker Woods tonight. He will run circles around SK defense if you don't contain him.

Durham was a fine QB. However, he was a QB . They didn't get to the playoffs and decide to try him out. You just don't plug a "big" kid into the QB position in the playoffs against a quality team. Think, man.
