What do you think about the NY Post's controversial cover today?

A facebook acquaintance had this to say...

"This is about as 'class-less' as it gets. What happened to showing some semblance of respect to the POTUS whether you like him or hate him, whether you approve or disapprove and whether you agree or disagree? Show some class, poise, and professionalism NEW YORK POST. This kind of published crap makes us all look bad to the entire world."

Pretty harmless stuff, if you ask me. Also, it's the NY Post so it's hard to get worked up about the level of class they may or may not have.

Classless, IMO.

I am one who thinks the level of respect due the office has grossly eroded in our country over the last several years. The office is a dignified one, and the POTUS deserves to be treated with respect.

This falls under the category of things I see and hear that I think falls short. I'm not upset or worked up over it, but I do think we owe a lot more courtesy to our elected leader than we give him.

Par for the course anymore. No respect for the POTUS no matter which party is in office.

I agree, but I think it goes back to Slick Willie, and owed as well to the internet age.

I am strongly disagree with President Obama in regards to many decisions but at the same time, I think the cover is lacking class. The office of President of the United States is the top office in our country and whoever it is should be treated with class.

He needs to be doing some P90X.

I find it inappropriate. Our country is too awesome to be meddling in this type stuff. Granted, it's the NY Post, but still.

It's no different than the goofy caricatures you see in editorial cartoons at newspapers across the country. I have no issue with it.

I have long complained about our last of respect shown for the President regardless of party. While I don't have a problem with our society losing some of its traditional formalities and ways of showing respect I do in this case. I simply cannot refer to a President simply by using their last name. It's disrespectful and no different than if I called former 4-star General McChrystal "Stan." Can't do it.

With that I do NOT have a problem with this cartoon. I think a political cartoonist gets a lot of room. In this case the cartoonist is making a statement about the elections. Doesn't bother me in the least.

Yes. Whether or not you like his or his party's policies, have respect for the office. But, New York Post needs to sell their "publication" so if the content inside sucks, they've got to dress up the pig to sell somehow.

Classless. As has already been stated, even if you don't respect the President, respect the office.

We do, but politicians themselves have had a large hand in making the offices they hold less respectable.

I feel all the mistrust and venom for the office goes back to LBJ, Vietnam, and Nixon's shenanigans.
