Should Halloween be moved for High School Football?

Featured Replies

Some cities in WV, Ohio and Texas moving Halloween trick or treat hours to Thursday or Saturday because no one will be home on Friday nights due to High school football games.

Do you think Halloween should be moved? Or should the High school games be moved? Or neither be moved, and if so, how much will attendance be down this Friday night?

I know if you want to trick or treat, don't do it in Raceland, Worthington or Ironton Friday night because you will go home sad. If you want candy, you better move trick or treat to another night.

Or play on Thur night like Cooper and Dixie :)

As much as we all love HS Football a very small percentage of each communities population will actually be at the games.

Don't move Trick or Treating.

One thing that we did one year was have Trunk or Treating while we were tailgating before the game in the parking lot. Kids just went car to car getting treats while we were tailgating prior to the game.

Garrard County/Lancaster moved Trick-or-Treat to Thursday night because the biggest street for kids to walk down is the same street that takes you to the stadium. There were traffic and safety concerns.

Most trick or treating is over by 7:00 right? They call it before dark.

I'd say most are just banking on a lot of late arrivals.

I don't know that Halloween will effect crowds as much as:

1) Their seasons are going as is.

2) It was 80 today, and will the coldest temps since last winter will be here by Friday night (for the kids).

So does Gallatin County and Bishop Brossart...

McCracken County and Christian County are playing Thursday also.

Trick or treat in this area is Thursday.Flatwoods and I think the rest of the cities in Greenup County as well.

They will just go Thursday since it's the 30th in Raceland,Worthington.:sssh:

Fairdale v Bullitt East is on Thursday.

Mostly 6 to 8pm in NKY for trick or treat hours. Cincy may end at 9pm.

Hey just a thought. Since a lot of fans will be at the stadium watching their favorite H.S. team, why not have the little ones dress up and trick or treat in the stands and around the stadium facilities? Make an announcement to the home teams/ boosters parents to have all the fans attending to bring bags/ sacks of candies to give out to the little one. Enjoy a game and a fright night..

I think a 60+ year tradition trumps the local high school football games.
