Timmons isn't the only WR that dropped passes today folks. Should he have made a better play on those two? Yes! We're all a little too hard on him because he is a real kid from KY player. He sure hasn't cost them 2 games. Many areas lacking to put that on the kid. JMHO

He had opportunities in 2 big games to get a win and in 2 games in crucial times choked. You can say he didn't cost them

Overall at best, the Cats are an average team that is going to have to pull off an upset to make a lower level bowl game, so in no way shape or form should have the #1 team in the country struggled like they did to get a win.

I liked what I saw. But, man, that onside kick run back stung! I was furious after that.

 

Team is improving week by week. I think the main thing is that Patty Ice is delivering like a big time QB should. He is tough, wants to win more than anyone, will give his teammates an earful. I really like this kid and I think he is going to develop into a nationally recognizable name.

U.K played a helluva game. P. Towles is the real deal, what a football game he played. What, imo was and will be the main overall problem with U.K. is lack of depth. These top of the line SEC teams go three deep, at least, at practically every position on the field. U.K. goes one - the starters.

As for this one I didn't expect the Cats to play it this close I thought that they absolutely left everything they had laying out on the field. Special Teams - had they even practiced an onsides kick ? That was terrible.

Stoops certainly has U.K. Football moving in the right direction. There are no such animal as a moral victory so ......Bottom Line : U.K. got beat by a better football team ....period.

Best thing about this : U.K. WILL get better.

 

On a side note - I thought that the fans at CWS were great today. This was definitely a positive image on CWS / U.K. Fans on a prime national broadcast.

He's the #9 leading WR in the SEC and you say he shouldnt play D-1? :ohbrother: I'm guessing maybe 5 touches for 114 yards on national tv agaisnt the #1 team in the nation isn't D-1 numbers? Maybe Bone who dropped 4 passes is? Timmons dropped 2 balls yes they were at the end of the game but he had been fighting all game for his team, nobody would step up..after the Demarco Robinson touchdown what did the Receivers do? Drop balls all night......Ryan dropped 2 balls and really I could argue and say he only dropped one and that was on the 3rd and 4. The touchdown throw, Towles threw a little off, giving the defender #11 for Miss St. time to reach his arm in and snag Ryan's arm and even horse-collared him (they dont want to call that do they?) Watch the play over and over..I could have argued for Pass-Interf. But it is what it is.. Ryan is only a sophomore putting up better numbers in the SEC than some senior WR on elite teams. 36 Catches for 453 yards in just 8 games.... Yes Florida, mistake.. But if you watch films or even observe these games you see Ryan does what he can to put his team in the position to score. Would I have loved to see him catch the TD? Of course, but I feel they put so much pressure on this kid that when it's time to score, they snag him into a rough route and place him in a position to come up short. Ryan will be fine, he is their go-to receiver...What kid can admitt that he takes plays off, doesn't get the start against Miss St. then come in and put up 114 yards on just 5 touches.

 

His junior year he will be something to recognize as top WR in the country......Towles will be on point with 1 on 1 routes with Ryan, and I say he breaks the 1,000 yard WR mark with Craig Yeast, Stevie J, Randall Cobb and others. Agreed, and im sure he knows this. Just no player is perfect even Jerry Rice dropped passes on key plays.

 

He will get better, the kid still has 2+ more years if he sticks around and doesnt opt for the NFL.

I'm probably not going to say anything that hasn't already been said, but I really enjoyed watching this game Saturday. Glad that UK Football is at least more enjoyable to watch these days!
