October 23, 201412 yr I don't hunt, at least animals, but if I was the adult I would have done what some others have said, just take some photos. A kid doesn't fully understand that somethings are just special and should be left alone. It says that in some states it's illegal to kill an albino deer? Never heard of that. Also never went to the woods deer hunting with a camera. Probably just me.

October 24, 201412 yr I can only say what I would personally do and that is to let it live. That in no way means I am judging or condemning his choice to take the animal. To each his own but I would have to let it walk and just enjoy the encounter. Same here. When we first moved to our neighborhood a few years back, we had one that often roamed the area & I let it live by not hitting him with my car.

So you're saying you're more into hunting "the most dangerous prey of all," humans? :eyeonyou:
October 24, 201412 yr Good for the kid, out hunting and doing something that was illegal that takes patience and time. The buck is legal game and albinism is actually a trait that is not desirable in a deer heard, they have eyesight issues and as well are hard to conceal themselves which is a deers most important defense.
October 24, 201412 yr So you're saying you're more into hunting "the most dangerous prey of all," humans? :eyeonyou:Just R's.
October 24, 201412 yr Just R's. LOL! Na! No one in this state, or this country for that matter. That's all I can say. lol
October 24, 201412 yr No issues. I don't hunt, but was introduced to hunting by my father and uncles. I couldn't wait until I was old enough to go hunting, and really enjoyed it until I became proficient enough with a gun to start hitting what I was shooting at. I shot my first deer at 16, and that turned out to be my last deer. I did go hunting a few more times, but never pulled the trigger again. I do my hunting now searching for meat sales at Kroger.
October 24, 201412 yr Interesting there is a albino deer that lives in the woods behind my old house in Independence.

Never thought about it that way, but good point. I'm not sure though I would have shot it or allowed a kid I was teaching to hunt shoot it. Just such a rarity...I think I would have told the kid that we are just going to enjoy watching the deer and have a story to tell, but we won't be the ones harvesting it.

That is your deciscion as a hunter but if its legal its up to you, I would have bagged the deer for sure, and would have encouraged my kids to do the same, But I see how some may feel its not the thing to do.
