It's on the Yappi Elder Team Site. The "big controversy" for the game from Elder's perspective is that HHS has not allowed Elder's band to come to the game. The Elder AD said he was told it is because HHS does not want Elder's band to play during the commercials on the HHS scoreboard...has a lot of Elder folks riled up.

I'm bummed out. I kinda wish their band would come. I like when bands travel. Maybe our 10 band members could collaborate with them and play a few together...very sad how the string program has decimated our poor marching band program.

Wait, what?? Are you saying your orchestra program has taken kids away from your band program and in fact, may outnumber your band??!!

Looked like the usual postings. Confident in victory and setting up the excuses if they lose.

 

The band thing is interesting. When I saw that I assumed it was a seating issue. Take your pick more fans or take the band.

Yeah I read the band issue not coming. If the reason is because HHS is afraid their band will play over the commercials on the Jumbirdtron, then shame on Highlands. It's Highschool football for crying out loud. Bands are part of it.

 

You have to give it up for HHS's band. There aren't many numbers but they try. The only problem is, with so few members, when they play Highland's fight song, all of about 7 people stand up and 5 are from our family. We hear it because we sit right behind them. That has to be the reason nobody stands and claps and sings along with the fight song right? Oh and after games, the band sings My Old Kentucky Home which is nice. They should really try and involve everybody with that. That would be cool.

 

Oh on the commercials, they can always crank up the volume on the big board.

I didn't realize they still played the fight song while while they were in the stands. That's a shame. It used to be TOUCHDOWN --- BOOM --- FIGHT SONG by the band with everyone standing. Now we get that stupid song over the PA. At least they could play the fight song over the PA
