Ok so why is Highlands playing this game again? I'm confused.

 

A) prepare for the playoffs

B) couldn't find somebody else to play

C) get reps for the two's in case starters get injured

D) get reps for the starters

E) as always "play to win"

F) because they are on the schedule

G) all of the above

Don't agree with B) or C). HHS wants to play Elder...they are not on the schedule because they could not get another game. Regarding getting reps for the second teamers, that is what the games against Holmes, Harrison County and a couple of others are for...not this one.

They threw Hoge back into the CC game hurt and someone tell me what he did. Oh that's right, led a huge comeback and tried to win the game. I expect the Birds to do everything in their power to win the game on Friday night. I don't see them putting the 2's in unless they are up or down 30 in the 2nd half and that just wont happen.

He didn't pull anyone out in the CC game, why would he do it against Elder? I didn't say he babied anybody, show me where I did. Last but not least, do you think Weinrich hasn't thought about risk vs. reward coming into this game? The coach, bottom line,will do what it takes to win state. The big prize is waiting in BG.

Yea, I was at the CC game and saw what you did. He's a great player and a tough young man, no doubt about it. You're certainly entitled to your opinion.

Coaches wont risk season over 1 game but remember, there are a couple of easy round games in KY playoffs so if players need to mend they always have a little extra time with those typical blowout games.

 

This is a big game and I would expect everyone to play as long as they can. JMO

I don't care what anyone thinks or feels, but HHS would never take the field in a regular season game and not want to win the game or be "working on stuff". They play these games to challenge their kids and put them in tough situations in front of big crowds to prepare them for the road ahead. As a coach, you want you kids to experience as much as possible prior to the playoffs. The more they experience (crowds, playing against a bigger/stronger kid, playing against speed, playing a ground and pound team, playing a spread team) all keep your team from being caught off guard when you run into different styles and different environments in the playoffs.

My point there is that if Hoge or any other kid is gimping and could have a serious injury get worse they wont risk it. Coach Weinrich will have his trainers who are top notch help in the decision making process. I can gurantee you though he will also get input from the kids and IMO those kids are going to be 100% ready to go regardless. It will take an X-ray showing a broken bone or torn ACL to keep those kids off the field for this one.

Any idea when tickets go on sale @ Highlands? With this being Senior night as well the requests for tickets is growing by the day.
