It's on the Yappi Elder Team Site. The "big controversy" for the game from Elder's perspective is that HHS has not allowed Elder's band to come to the game. The Elder AD said he was told it is because HHS does not want Elder's band to play during the commercials on the HHS scoreboard...has a lot of Elder folks riled up.

Ummm...yes I am a very big HHS fan. Just objective. This HHS defense is not special. Look it up...gave up 41 to Bryan Station and 38 to CC. When HHS has played a very good offense, it has struggled...just a fact. Its an OK defense but if HHS is going to beat Elder and win the state championship, it is going to be because of the offense more than the defense.

 

I hope I am wrong and HHS pitches a shutout tonight. But I have seen both teams play and I don't think they will. Good news is that we will know in less than 12 hours.

 

You can be a fan of a team and be objective as well. Also, I have said a bunch of other stuff very positive about HHS on this site and Yappi. Read all my stuff and don't be so selective.

I like how the Ohio teams/fans say that playing HHS is not a big deal. (yawn) This game means not making the playoffs if Elder loses. Pretty sure the entire program at Elder is very concerned about this one. If the Birds win it would be another feather in their cap, if not, Elder might make the playoffs. This will be a war! Elder isn't looking at this as a BYE week, if they are, they will be watching the playoffs with you from the bleachers.

 

Any word on ticket Availability? Game time?

Very aware of the situation and the reason for wearing orange tonight. As to your comments about the defense, you want to talk about CC and Bryan Station scoring points, but are those teams not really good offensively? Was not one of CC's touchdowns on a kickoff return? Didn't Bryan Station score three times on a short field because of turnovers. This defense has grown up a lot in the last several weeks especially when you consider that they did not return many with experience. I can tell you one thing for certain and that is Elder will know that they have been in a dogfight when the final whistle blows. Good luck to both teams and hopefully everyone comes out of this game injury free.

Yes, but Elder's size is always a problem for Highlands. I don't know if Elder's will be a factor this year (I have not been keeping up with the GLC), but traditionally, the GLC's player size has been a thorn for all NKY teams.

I will 100% agree with this statement. I have seen a ton of flying around the ball in the last few weeks and some great open field tackling.

 

I am looking forward to seeing how the Birds contain Ramsay tonight.
