Ryle 21 Covington Catholic 14

HMM, no surprise?

Ryle is not even rated, while at least CC was #7 in BGP poll.

CC was rated very high until last week.

It seems now that CC is bogus.

Different classes, Ryle is on the way up, CCH is on the way down, Ryle winning is no surprise here.

Recent years has many giving more respect to CovCath than they've earned on the field.

CCH is so hard to figure, early in the year they looked tough and now the train has come off the rails.

On the way up? They have lost 5 games this season. I checked LIT rating and Ryle was big underdog. But your right about CCH they are on the way down and may not have ever been up.

And I saw Ryle in person last week, you can take the LIT ratings and flush them down the toilet. They can't account for quick rises and falls.

Wow, what a game. My socks will be roasted over the fire for awhile to get all the water out lol. Didn't stop raining once and made a great atmosphere for a Friday night game. Congrats to The Ryle raiders on a heck of a game. They have some real quality players esp. #7. What a beast. Wishing them the best in the rest of the season.

What I did like from the Colonels was that they played a physical brand of football. They didn't quit when their backs were against the walls and they almost pulled a win on the road, against a good football team, with a lot of key players out. Which leads me to my next point.

A job well done to all the Underclassmen who played a large role in this game tonight. Sophomores Alex Shelton, Anthony Best, Matthew Thiel (sp??), Hunter Zigelmeyer (sp) and although Frosh QB AJ Meyer played two or three snaps, still impressive to step up as a freshman. And what a ball he can throw. Can anyone give me the official tackle Stats for Shelton and Thiel. Seemed like every other play you were hearing these two kids names! Congrats to the young boys!

How about the new formations The blue boys put in. A TE most of the game and even had a full back I believe. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess lol! And for the future of this team, I have no idea what to think??? I think they will win out and recieve number 2 spot in playoffs and head down to Johnson. Not going to get ahead of my self though.

Once again, congrats to Ryle coaches and players.

So how many CCH starters are out and when should they be back? Does CCH expect to be fully healthy (or close to it) by the playoffs? I just find it hard to believe that CCH has fallen this far so fast this year.

Maybe in this case .... but I don't believe Ryle or CCH is very good.

Demarsh, Wagner, Zumdick are all out. All seniors

You left out Darlington.

I heard McDowell got hurt tonight and didn't play much.

Is the DL back to full strength?

There ain't no maybe about it. I know what I am talking about.

A lot of teams have 3 guys out this late in the season. There has to be more guys out than that, doesn't there? I know Wagner is a QB. What positions do Demarsh and Zumdick play? Again, are these season ending injuries or should CCH be relatively healthy for the playoffs?

Ryle is playing very good ball right now. CCH is struggling.

I do too

On defense tonight, CCH was without: Zumdik @ Safety, DeMarsh @ Corner. On offense they were without: Wagner @ QB, Dressman @ QB and multiple spots, McDowell @ WR and Darlington @ RB after the 2nd play.

Personally, I was give some optimism seeing what I saw on the field tonight. In less than a week, the players and coaches had to put together an almost entirely new game plan along with new formations and sets- playing backups and asking kids to step up. Which they did in a big way in the 2nd half. I saw a team that got smacked around on offense and a little on D, then get back up swinging. I am 100% confident that once this team gets back on the mend, all this drama will be in the rear view mirror. That's my two cents anyway.

Congrats to Ryle tonight - and congrats to Cov Cath for getting your fight back.
