October 9, 201412 yr If AJ is out for any length of time, we can now truly see how good Dalton is. I say this because as we all know having one of the best WR's in the game has been AJ and he has bailed Andy out a lot of times in the past because he is that good. Now we will get a good evaluation of Dalton without AJ to bail him out. I personally think this will be a great evaluation of what he can do.
October 9, 201412 yr I agree it will be a great evaluation period and it will force Dalton to always play QB instead of throwing up under-thrown jump balls down the field to Green.
October 9, 201412 yr Author This could be a huge step in him proving people like me wrong. If AJ is out for a large chunk if not the rest of the season and Dalton gets us to the playoffs this year, I will definitely give him the props he deserves because I look at the only way we get there is due to good QB play. With AJ out teams will start to focus on stopping our run game which means Dalton will have to find a way to beat teams. Should be very interesting and informative the rest of the way.
October 9, 201412 yr I'm not defending Dalton but how much would any QB be able to do with his top 3 receivers out?
October 9, 201412 yr Is that even fair? How many other QBs are going to put up great (heck, even good) numbers without the best two WRs and best TE?
October 9, 201412 yr The Bengals receiving corps is crap without Green. Sanu is the best they have and he isn't even average IMO. I say go two backs, two tight ends and break out the Woody Hayes playbook.
October 9, 201412 yr Dave Lapham seems to think that AJ will play this weekend. So does Gio. This all reminds me of the skit the players did on Hard Knocks last year about AJ and Baby Hawk. Soft as Cottonelle...
October 9, 201412 yr If Marvin Jones starts to play and Eifert comes back then that truly would be a good time to evaluate him. As others have said its hard to evaluate him with Green but also unfair to grade him without his top two wrs and best te.
October 9, 201412 yr The Bengals receiving corps is crap without Green. Sanu is the best they have and he isn't even average IMO. I say go two backs, two tight ends and break out the Woody Hayes playbook. Wow do I ever disagree with that. I think Sanu has the ability to be a stud.
October 9, 201412 yr Everyone, I don't think Eifert has done enough yet in his Pro career to be characterized as the Bengals best TE. I think that is still Gresham.
October 9, 201412 yr Wow do I ever disagree with that. I think Sanu has the ability to be a stud. Agree, I believe Sanu could be a stud #2 pro receiver.
October 9, 201412 yr Wow do I ever disagree with that. I think Sanu has the ability to be a stud. Every team in the NFL has at least one receiver better than Sanu and many of them have two WR's that are better than him. That makes him average at best.
