October 7, 201412 yr Had me really worried when I saw the thread! Glad it isn't something worse! Prayers that you feel much better soon, God bless!
October 7, 201412 yr Author Thanks again everyone. I was in the ER for about 4 hours. Horrible sensation of overwhelming heat in my throat, I can only describe it as it felt like there was a blow torch in it. Then it feeling like it was swollen up, and that acid taste was so disgusting that I can't even begin to describe how bad it was. Then being in the ER, and the Dr walks in and asks the nurse in a surprised voice "is that HIS blood pressure?", as it was 201/197, not what I wanted to hear from the Dr, hmmm. The BP is back to about 110/78, so that is good to know. But I still have a slight bad taste in the mouth, feels a little scratchy and a little swollen.
December 17, 201411 yr Author Back in the ER. More prayers please. I just posted the details in the members forum. Thank you and God Bless.
December 20, 201411 yr I posted this in the Premium Members forum but thought I'd post it here as well for those that aren't Premium Members. Talked to SG a little earlier. Still no answers and a lot of testing coming up. He could really use your prayers, it's never a good feeling having uncertainty weighing on your mind. Especially when you feel bad to boot. This time of year it all weighs a little more. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks.
December 21, 201411 yr Thanks RTS for posting this. Prayer is powerful. May SG feel God's healing touch and His presence during this uncertain time.
December 25, 201411 yr I am on Protonix and have been since 1986, when I went into the hospital for bleeding ulcers. It works for me.
December 25, 201411 yr Nexium is the best PPI. You need to take two Omeprazole to get the effectiveness of Nexium. Nexium will shut the acid off and block the burning in your chest/throat.
December 25, 201411 yr Author I used to be on Ranitidine then all of s sudden last spring something changed and it didn't work anymore. Now I'm on Protonix (40MG) twice a day. Gaviscon after all meals and before anytime I sleep. Pepto before anytime I sleep. A Sucralfate (2G) 5 times a day. And I have GI Cocktails (30MG) for emergencies). I wake up at times fighting to breath, once or twice is scary enough, now it's worrying when will it happen again as it has happened so much. They want some scans to see if it's maybe the gal bladder, as well as a stress yeast which was supposed to be done last week but this all came up again. Upper GI will be done the end of January.
