I have horrible acid reflux that wakes me up at times where I can't breath for a very short time. The heat feeling in my throat is horrible, and this is one of the worse. BP was 201/197, now down to 146/106.

 

Just felt like I couldn't swallow, or if I coughed that it felt like I wasn't able to breath for awhile. THIS is about the only thing that scares the heck out of me

Hopefully you're on the mend.

 

I had acid reflux on a regular basis for years but it never felt "heart attack-ish". Used to self-medicate with Arm & Hammer baking soda and water. Nasty, but it usually did the trick.

 

For whatever reason, I haven't had reflux in probably 10 or 12 years now.

In short, a medication that reduces stomach acid.

 

Only reason I knew about Protonix is that among other things, I had a tear in the esophagus a while back as well as ulcers, and that's what was prescribed.
