What's the definition of serious threat? Yes, the last time they beat HHS was 2006. In the 2011 regular season, I believe it was a one score game, with CCH inside the 20 at the end of the game. The last two years (2012 and 2013), CCH lost 28-13 at HHS in the playoffs.

If "serious threat" means a single possession game, then I believe the 2011 regular season game is the only one since 2006 that I can recall.

Let's be clear, HHS has been far superior to CCH, top to bottom, since 2006 and frankly, for the majority of the past 15 years. But, let's make sure the facts are straight.

The 2010 game was a 27-20 victory by Highlands at Highlands. A CovCath WR was 10 yards behind a Highlands defender, but the ball was slightly underthrown and he only was able to get his finger tips on it. He was somewhere around the 15 yard line of Highlands. The stats were very lopsided in Highlands favor, but it came down to the last possession of the game. Last possession again in the regular season of 2011 as you mentioned.

In those games CovCath ran more effectively with RB's than they have since. Now it seems there running game has become one dimensional with the QB taking on the Lion's share of the carries.

Should I assume the lack of response means we are all in agreement?

I think the Dixie game gave a false sense of what this team is capable of. I also believe that items other than talent are affecting the team as well. The defensive front 7 have been somewhat exposed ever since the Highlands game. No one else had the patience/game plan to run power football at CovCath. Since Highlands showed how effective that was, everyone is now taking advantage.

Covington Catholic is a very average team. Even at full strength. I hope they make it to Ft. Thomas again in November. I wonder if they'll bring as many fans as they did for the September game.

SOO, apparently a number of players are upset, about more than one issue. The reason I asked how many players will threaten to quit this week, it to get a starting spot or more PT. As one players was going to quit, after talking to the father, the player started the next game.

I hate to hear this for any team, that there is that much turmoil.

This is not looking good if true...C'mon CovCath...you are better than this damnit...:thumb:

Aint nobody quitting. Sure people are upset, but they aint quitin. CCH will go on a 4 game run with a trip to Johnsonville looming. CCH has been very successful down there. And with a win there, a return trip to Ft Thomas and everyone is happy in PH. Of course until the Sat morning after in my predictions. Then what happens? That day, I'm staying away from the paint store and the wing joint! Actually.........

This is good news, I hate when I hear the ole "Im quiting thingy", I too expect the Blueboys to be there in Nov.

They layin in the weeds I tellin ya...

As for the paint store, you might be able to stay outta there but you ain't doing no drivebys past the Wing Joint, ain't happening big fella...:thumb:

Everything in this thread is speculation. I don't think there are any comments from the Cov Cath group who might be more informed than any of us. I think they are fairly beat up and trying to heal. When they do they would be trouble for most teams.

What a load of crap.

No one is starting that doesn't deserve to start. The kids who are starting now who didn't start earlier in the season owe that completely to the injuries on both sides of the line. The coaches would never bow down to some plea from a parent or player for more PT. If anything, that kind of behavior works in reverse.

Of course the players are upset - losing kind of does that to a person. I would expect things to get back on track this Saturday.

Your so wrong about the Walter thing it isn't even funny, but I know there is no arguing with you so I won't waste any more breath.

BTW- I doubt you find a much better O-Line in N Ky, much less the state, than Tyler Conrad as evidenced by the fact that multiple kids at that position have gone on to play at the next level during his time at Cov Cath. That, and the fact that Cov Cath represents one of the best academic institutions in the state probably had something to do with sending his son to Cov Cath vs Cooper, Conner or wherever else.

Bob Burnett is hands down the best O-Line coach in the area, if not one of the top coaches in the state. Rings do not lie and the man has enough for both hands and some. He is as good as it gets. I am sure the coach at Cov Cath is a great coach, but he hasn't been coaching for 40+ years and hasn't produced half the players that Coach Burnett has. Some coaches only wish they had the knowledge of the game Coach Burnett has. But that is a mute point. The young Walters isn't at Cooper he is at Cov Cath and I am sure he is doing a great job!

What a load of crap.

Problem is it did happen and divide the team at a point they should have been coming together as at a team.As a result we got the effort against Beechwood.

Sorry- I can buy that a kid or two feel like they deserve more PT and approached the coaches about it (players are always encouraged to approach the coaches about how they can get on the field more) but no way did the coaches bow to their wishes or any parents wishes. That stuff doesn't fly with the staff and as I said- usually works in reverse. Any kid starting now in their current position or in a new position is doing so out of need- not because they threatened to quit.

Further- if anyone here had the team and kids best interests in mind, they wouldn't go blabbing locker room rumors on a message board. It's always the vocal minority with an axe to grind that seem to have this need.

Quit? No. Kid said he was going to quit, father and coach talked, the next game the kid started.

What a load of crap.
Lol! Ok, keep thinking that, lol. May want to tell a few players that as well, as they seem to think what was said is true. Hmmm.....
