Is Dave Wirth in trouble at CovCath?

Sorry- I can buy that a kid or two feel like they deserve more PT and approached the coaches about it (players are always encouraged to approach the coaches about how they can get on the field more) but no way did the coaches bow to their wishes or any parents wishes. That stuff doesn't fly with the staff and as I said- usually works in reverse. Any kid starting now in their current position or in a new position is doing so out of need- not because they threatened to quit.

I would agree I think it would be very uncharacteristic of the Staff to allow that. I know there is no way Coach Ray would put up with that. However, I have been told by 4 different, unrelated players/parents that it DID happen. It's my understanding the affected player has told others on the team it happened. Now whether or not it went down as its been reported is another matter all together. The issue is that many on the team believe it happened, that has been in turn reported to their parents.

So as C-BOY78 has reported, the perception among many is that it did happen. Sadly this is what happens when unexpected losses and/or blow out losses occur. Outside the locker (parents etc) room shouldn't affect how the team plays, if it is a issue inside the locker room it needs to be dealt with or it could cause the team break apart.

If that happens it's bigger than a few unexpected losses or blow out beatings to your rival, it affects the on going perception of the program at both the school and its potential new customers.

Quitting should never be an option. The coach should insulate himself and refuse to have parent meetings about playing time.

What a load of crap.

No one is starting that doesn't deserve to start. The kids who are starting now who didn't start earlier in the season owe that completely to the injuries on both sides of the line. The coaches would never bow down to some plea from a parent or player for more PT. If anything, that kind of behavior works in reverse.

Of course the players are upset - losing kind of does that to a person. I would expect things to get back on track this Saturday.

Hahaha

Quit? No. Kid said he was going to quit, father and coach talked, the next game the kid started.

Again- no one is starting (or playing starting minutes) who isn't :

A) deserving of starting.

Or

B) starting because of an injury to someone else.

The staff does not play those games with kids and parents. I never understood the need that some people have to report half baked truths - is it an inferiority complex? "Look at me! I know something!"

lol! Looks like some have struck a nerve. Keep thinking all is well if you want.

As a matter of fact, I don't think "all is well." The kids confidence is down and they hear outside people like yourself who get joy in spreading gossip. So yeah, I guess people like you do strike a nerve.

Your wrong on this so face it- no kid is starting because Daddy called the coaches. After all his years in coaching and his years here at Cov Cath, you think all of a sudden Wirth is going to start listening to that kind of junk?

Oh wait- the all knowing OZ has some facts to lay down. Hit us with the truth.

I have no info on this. I just find it funny your comments on the subject. You bashed me last year when the whole crazies and Rule incident occurred becAudrey according to you there is no way possible anyone affiliated with CCH could ever do anything wrong because everyone is perfect there. Then earlier this year when the crazies deserted the team before halftime of the BW game you were quiet, and now this and several people hearing the same thing from different players you still refuse to admit that maybe, just maybe CCH has some cracks in their armor lol.

Just enjoying watching you squirm in all your denial.

Hahaha

"Mom- someone is stalking me on the internet!"

I wonder how many players are going to say they quit this week.

SOO, apparently a number of players are upset, about more than one issue. The reason I asked how many players will threaten to quit this week, it to get a starting spot or more PT. As one players was going to quit, after talking to the father, the player started the next game.

I hate to hear this for any team, that there is that much turmoil.

I heard the exact same thing from a CCH parent.

Truth!

Lol! Ok, keep thinking that, lol. May want to tell a few players that as well, as they seem to think what was said is true. Hmmm.....

Doesn't surprise me. It is no different no matter what school. There will always be those who think little Johnny isn't getting enough attention.

BD ... it looks to me like two other posters are confirming what SportsGuy is saying. I don't expect you to confirm because you want to support CCH. But denying it happened is not looking like the correct answer. I have no info. I am just going by what I am reading on here.

Sorry OZ- I know you are interested in them but my panties are fine. But nice try on digging for info in post #161- which is against forum rules BTW

And so is everytime you call me Oz. You may want to learn the rules yourself before calling others out on them.
