TTS_JF Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Great game last night, reminded me just how much I like post-season baseball.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 No dog in the fight, so I'm happy for the Royals. Great comeback.
Getslow Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Whew. Made it to the end. Worth it. What a game. Congrats to the Royals. As for the A's... they're stuck with a horrible "What if?" in that injury to Soto. The Royals ran all over the place with the backup catcher behind the plate. Have to wonder if they'd have managed to steal seven bases had Soto been behind the plate. I thought the Royals were doomed when Ventura came in and gave up that 5-run sixth inning. Yost probably should have let Shields battle through the first part of that inning. He's their best pitcher and I'm a believer in trusting your ace come playoff time. Luckily the Royals were able to manufacture enough offense to overcome the defecit. Really fun game. What else could you want out of a one-game playoff?
MentschTrachtGottLacht Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 ..... The A's bullpen imploded several times down the stretch giving up leads....and then did it again with the world watching.

stickymitts Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Perez still took a horrible swing on a horrible pitch. This time it worked out. As stated many times, the process used by the A's is great for 162 games but mean nothing in 1 game or a short series.
gchs_uk9 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Whew. Made it to the end. Worth it. What a game. Glad you made it. I went to bed after the 11th when it was 12:20am. When I saw the final score this morning I was kicking myself for not giving it 30 more minutes.
malachicrunch Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Should have brought in Dunn. They were trying to win:D

mcpapa Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 I think I heard that the A's are now zero for their last seven "loser goes home/winner moves on or takes it all" games. Last one they won was Game 7 of the 1973 WS.
Clyde Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Still trying to figure out how he pulled that ball down the third-base line. Joe Oliver-ish circa 1990
stickymitts Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Still trying to figure out how he pulled that ball down the third-base line. Right. Pitcher made the pitch. Tip your cap.
mcpapa Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 I was at Game 2 in '90. Atmosphere was absolutely electric.
