Yep. This exactly.

 

Best way to summarize my feelings: the A's would have had just as good of a chance (I mean, hey, it couldn't have been worse) throwing Smardzija, Gray, or possibly even a hot Kazmir if we're talking about winning the 1 game playoff. If we're talking about winning the World Series, I'll still defer to their strategy of trying to build a strong 4 man rotation to carry them through a 7 game series. No way they get there if they have guys who can't make their bullpen last night in starting roles.

I thought so too. Position player wise I thought Dunn was as anti-saber as they came. Then I remembered his high OBP due to BB's. He actually isn't that bad. Maybe pitching but it didn't seem that way offensively.
