Brace yourself for the widespread panic and overreaction from the American people.

Of course some will but I think most won't. However, we should look into strengthening our countermeasures to insure no more cases appear in the U.S.

Panic, they rightfully should, no cure and killed thousands upon thousands of people.

And I pre warned this was going to happen. Until we limit the travelers from coming back from certain regions, or illegal crossing the border.

Wish we could get another swine flu scare so the price of pork will drop back to something reasonable.

No panic yet, but I do have a bit of concern to be honest.

We could start a rumor that bacon has been linked to Ebola.

As long as pork shoulder is part of it. I love to make my pulled pork for folks, but not at $2.19 a pound when it should be a buck less.

Air travel is riskiest thing. Supposedly patient caught it after traveling via air. Though it is usually said it does not spread in the air there is evidence to the contrary.

Companies are brushing off their pandemic plans of a few years ago and some have already put management on alert for possible actions that would disrupt normal business.

Something to keep an eye on.

I didn't see anything in the news that said he caught it after traveling. He didn't have any symptoms until after he traveled, but could have been exposed to the virus up to three weeks before traveling.

I am with Jumper Dad. Not panicked, but concerned. The fact that it is not passed via the respiratory system or by casual contact is reassuring. Our hospitals are infinitely better than African ones, and the whole country will be on alert.

I bet for every case of Ebola that actually presents itself at the hospital, there are hundreds of people showing up thinking they have it. That will be a drain on our resources.

Wonder how many he infected after he was turned away the first time. A sneeze here and a sneeze there. Who should we thank for letting this happen over here?

Not sue where you saw that but the articles I read did not say he supposedly caught it after travel. He most likely caught prior to leaving for the US. Symptoms didn't show up until 4 days after he was here meaning those who were on the flight with him are most likely not at risk.
