I haven' seen either team but by reading threads and scores I thought this may be the year for CCH. Looks like everyone had underestimated the Birds and overrated the Colonels. Hard to believe this much domination. Looks again like CCH will have to go JC and HHS back to back, if they beat JC. I am not sure JC's schedule can really tell me anything about how good they really are.

No, trust me, I understand. I've been there with my teams as well. Performances like what was shown tonight in Fort Thomas are hard to wrap your head around.

It's getting old, I've been waiting for the year under Wirth. And it's not happening. He is failing at CCH.

I was there until it was 35-0 and then I left. I even got lucky enough to sit in the BGP Royalty section.

Wow.... Not only did CCH lose but they were blown out. Many questions have to be circulating in Park Hills now.

I don't know the rule either, but I wonder if no call was made because the ball had passed the receiver (ever so slightly) before the hit. I don't know if that was a consideration.

 

I have no idea what the rule was, but I was in the endzone and that ball had no chance of being caught. I was way over the heads of both of them. What I couldn't tell was if the hit was before the ball passed him because I had a horrible angle at that. All and all, I think it was probably a penalty, but not as easy as a call as it might have appear from the stands.

Also, across the board HHS is bigger and more athletic by a lot. That really surprised me. I thought CovCath had caught up a little in that department.

 

Athleticism was the difference IMO. I also think the slowness of play calling was a big factor with the Colonels offense; no one in 4A will beat Highlands that way.

the turnovers were a big part of the game. But it's up to the coaches to keep the boys calm and keep grinding. To me, It seems like CCH crapped down their pants and it was over. Having 12 men on the field and delay of game penalties. Overall a bad performance. But highlands deserves a lot of credit. They are a great football team and they get better every week.

Highlands is still the best around. Just took them awhile to get comfortable with the new coach apparently. Very surprised by this score

HHS will beat a lot of teams when they run like that. The wing formation was a perfect call. They set up a ton of soft corners or kick outs and whoever #50 is for HHS had an AWESOME game at the point of attack. On the other side, Abner was ferocious and it infected the whole D. They looked great.

 

#50 is SR Lou Bunning. Out of football for a few years with a concentration on baseball, I understand he returned for his SR yr to help the team, his friends and his school. I made the same comment during the game - huge chunks of yardage over the left side. Good story for a good kid.

While people are referencing the 12 men on the field penalty that was called on CCH and them then keeping 12 on the field and having to use a timeout, I want to run through a series of 6 plays for everyone.

 

Play 1: CCH has 10 defenders on the field (??? down play)

Play 2: CCH has 10 defenders on the field (??? down play)

Play 3: CCH has 10 defenders on the field (1st down play)

Play 4: CCH has 10 defenders on the field (2nd down play)

Play 5: CCH has 11 defenders on the field (3rd down play)

Play 6: CCH has 12 defenders on the field (4th down play - refs missed the penalty)

 

How does that happen?

As always, Highlands is Highlands. To beat them at the 4A level you have to catch them on an off game, which by the way doesn't happen often. The hype of this game was the nail in the coffin for Cov Cath in my opinion. I'm not saying that CC would have won the game otherwise, but i do believe it could have been closer. No one wants to play a fired up Highlands team.

 

Hard to disagree with you.

Highlands plays a fast brand of football. They average 5 to 7 seconds between each play. CCH plays slow, it's almost like they are thinking to much. Just a Dominant performance by Highlands.

I understand HHS was dominating but I just can't reconcile what I'm hearing about CCH tonight to what they did to Dixie. Particularly given how well Dixie has done since that game.

 

I'm really not trying to start a fight, but you've been following my conversations with the 6A stuff with certain other fans. That's what 6A is. I hate to say it.
