After reading all 11 pages and listening to the disgust of play by some of the Blueboy faithful I am just beginning to wonder if Wirth knew this game was over because his game plan was totally wrong for this Highlands team and decided to lay down.

 

Could he have decided at halftime that the best thing to do for the team was to throw the towel in and not show his hand? The offensive play selection would certainly suggest it, the lack of enthusiasm by the players coming out after halftime only down by 14 would also suggest it...Keep in mind these are not my thoughts or comments but the talk of CovCath followers and alumn

Just some crazy thoughts going through my head...Is Dave Wirth laying in the weeds for Highlands and did he do something that will leave Highlands scratching their heads the second go round?

Unless you are on the kicking team dreaming of that tackle. He makes the kicking game boring which is exactly what a team wants (no returns). I am too in the house of letting him boot a few from distance. It sure would be nice to beat the GCL on a kick. Nice weapon!!!

 

True! I guess it would stink to get all fired up to blow somebody up and it just turns into a conditioning sprint for the other 10! But it's fun watching the ball come off his foot and sail thru the night air!

The problem here is...to elaborate on that theory is rubbing salt in the wounds...if that's not the case at all! But I am pickin up what you're layin down.

It was either Paducah Tilghman or John Hardin that the receiver stood on or around the goal and would jump to try to catch or tip it just to get a chance to run it.

I have to admit Sweep, I was thinking the same thing as crazy as it might seem.
