As always, Highlands is Highlands. To beat them at the 4A level you have to catch them on an off game, which by the way doesn't happen often. The hype of this game was the nail in the coffin for Cov Cath in my opinion. I'm not saying that CC would have won the game otherwise, but i do believe it could have been closer. No one wants to play a fired up Highlands team.

An absolute beat down by HHS. CCH looked unprepared and their offense was as vanilla as it could get. They did not look like a top team tonight. Maybe Highlands is just that good though? Although that wouldn't explain the absolute lack of aggressiveness from the Colonels.

 

As for the hit, you will not convince me that was a legal hit by any means.

Very surprised at the margin. Highlands has come a long way since Campbell County.

Those are my thoughts as well. Thought possibly within. 2 TD's and CCH showing that the playoff game could get very interesting.

Well I saw both teams on film and thought Highlands was the clear favorite. Did not expect this kind of domination at all though.

If my memory is correct HHS had the ball inside the CCH 5 3 times with no points.

 

You have to give the Colonels credit, they stopped the Birds those three times. In the first half, the CovCath D was ptetty tough, they gave up the yards but not the points.

 

Likewise, the Highlands D seemed to be on a mission. Maybe they got wind of the fat, slow, small and not as good as past years, comments.

Well, I'm disappointed... Not at Covcath, but at myself for believe if this was actually "the year." Congrats to Highlands, they manhandled us on both sides of the ball. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way out.

Please don't get me wrong that is not what I am trying to do. I was just wondering if the fact that the ball was past the receiver makes a difference. We have to have a ref around here.

HHS will beat a lot of teams when they run like that. The wing formation was a perfect call. They set up a ton of soft corners or kick outs and whoever #50 is for HHS had an AWESOME game at the point of attack. On the other side, Abner was ferocious and it infected the whole D. They looked great.

this is simple. Cov Cath coaching staff is a joke. Their offense is a joke. They are attempting to run a no huddle offense and it takes on average 25 to 30 seconds to get a play off. CCH makes no adjustments at halftime. I hate saying anything about anyone's job but i think we've seen what Dave Wirth can do. And to be honest, He hasn't done NOTHING at CCH. It would be good for a change from the top to bottom.

Also, across the board HHS is bigger and more athletic by a lot. That really surprised me. I thought CovCath had caught up a little in that department.

your right. If 3 stops are all that matters for a football game. You have to play 48 mins. You cant take NOTHING from this game. Not one positive from this game.
