I disagree. This is SK's best team since Miles Simpson was running the ball.

Last years team was/is better than this years team, not even close.

This years Scott County is no where near last years. Also, high school games are all about match ups and I think that last year SK vs Scott County could have gone either way.

 

 

I think SK beats every team you mentioned. As far as Bryan Station vs SK, for me it is SK, SK has the d line to give them fits without having to blitz.

 

I'm not saying you're wrong about the SK D line. However, Station neutralizes that. Their QB is very athletic and they throw quick outs and slants and get their athletes in space. They also throw down field on timing patterns to fast receivers. They don't give any defensive line much chance to be effective. And IF your line gets through, there is no guarantee in keeping the very athletic QB from taking off and finding lanes. They are good.

SK has proven that they dominate all of the Lexington teams. Records prove it. Still behind the big 3 in Louisville and Scott County. I think SK is ahead of the WKY schools, I don't see any of those guys ahead of the Big 3 and Scott County.

So who are the big 3 in Louisville, because last I checked the Super District is 4 teams and Simon Kenton is not on that level.

T is T and they will be there by default, I predicted last yr that Scott Cty would win it all, St X may make some noise and apparently Male is back in the game.

 

Sweep's sleeper of the yr is Bryan Station, they will be there in the end if their athletes stay disciplined and focused on the game itself and not themselves.

SK is not on the same playing field as Scott Co. or the Big 3. And as far as last years Scott Co. IF they would have played SK it would have been no different than 2011 when they beat them twice very handily. Now I know SK is good this year but I don't think they are on the same level. As for Dixie and CC, they may be able to compete with the Lex. school, but they are just like SK with the other 4. I think SK has made leaps and bounds to build a sustaining program but they are a top 10 team not a top 5.

Short answer, the NKY 6A district is better than most other 6A districts in the state. By comparison to their 6A counterparts they are pretty good to good. Playing in the super district would not do any of them any favors. Aside from that, SK, Dixie, and CC would be fine to dominate depending on the district.

 

Overall, 6A isn't very good, with a few very obvious exceptions. Not a fan of the Lexington district at all. Always over blown. Lexington football isn't that good (unless Stoops is working at your school, then it's improving).

The question of whether this year's or last year's team was better can't be answered until the end of the year. Frankly, we know very little about this SK team due to the SOS. I do believe this years team is much better on the defensive side of the ball, but, I reserve judgement until they play some teams with bigger bodies and deeper roster.

 

From what I have seen and read, CC and Dixie do not have effective passing games. I don't see SK being challenged by one dimensional offense, so we may have to wait until the playoffs to see how good this team is.

Correct but their line allows them to drop 8 into coverage. Would be a fun game to watch.

Okay, let me ask these questions, since we seem to want to use SK as the measuring stick.

 

There seems to be non-biased NKY fans on here that seem to feel SK can play with the 10 6A teams I listed. So I'm really curious. My question...what makes you feel they can? What have they done over the last two years that makes you feel so confident they can compete? Is it the scrimmage of a admitted down St. X team that appears to be having problems scoring? I just look back over the last two years and wonder why people feel so confident about them competing with those teams. Serious question...I don't get what it is.

 

Secondly, everyone seems to say "outside of the Louisville teams". Well you can't really take them out, right? They would be included in a comparison of KY 6A schools, right? So why even say "outside of the Louisville schools". Last time I checked, Louisville is still in KY. What if I said I feel outside of the Lousiville schools and Scott Co, Bryan Station and a few others, all of KY 6A is mediocre? My point is, you can't take the 4-5 really good teams out and then judge yourself against the rest!

The SK team that I saw against NewCath is better than last year's team. They don't have Kuntz, but they seem more faster.

You do know highlands don't prepare for Trinity like its a real game! So that statement is wrong.
