The Atlantic City Police Dept must explain why they refused to give the NFL the video

Featured Replies

A spokesman for the New Jersey state attorney general responded to questions about why the video was not released to the NFL.

"It's grand jury material. It would have been improper -- in fact, illegal -- for the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office to provide it to an outside/private/non law-enforcement entity," Paul Loriquet said, according to ABC News.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!

I heard someone say today, that if there was video of Mike Vick fighting dogs, he would have never got back in the league.

Ironically, I'm thinking he never fought the dogs he just funded the operation and it was on his property.

But they let NFL employees watch it, didn't they?

I saw today that NJSP only handles crimes on the Casino Floor and that this would have fallen to the ACPD since it happened away from the gambling floor where their jurisdiction is absolute.

Atlantic City Police Department handles crimes committed else where in the casino/hotel

That's how it works in Indiana as well.

The NFL has big time federal connections, yet TMZ got the tape.

Why do we need to know any of this information?

Maybe they needed local connections and not federal.

Why do we need to know any of this information?

My thoughts as well.

Why "MUST" a law enforcement agency have to show a video of an investigation to the NFL?

Another good question is what information/evidence/videos did the NJSP or ACP release to the NFL?

My thoughts as well.

Because it would have affected the ACPD's fantasy draft.

Why should they have released any?

According to 99% of the other threads on BGP the police must release everything as soon as they get it or they are accused of hiding something or trying to cover something up...but to your point I agree 100%

The question is what, not why, if the police released ANYTHING to the NFL or gave them any information at all then their bull you know what story about it being grand jury evidence and not proper for release falls on its face.

In short, when someone is lying to you, you have to know how to attack them. Unfortunately, unless the government gets involved we may never know the truth about the NFL.

Not the point, sometimes the government is very useful.

If the government doesn't get involved and let all the players involved know that if they lie they will be in deep do do this will probably all get swept under the rug without us ever knowing the full truth. In short, the people in and around the NFL in a position to get to the bottom of this circus risk being exiled by the league so they probably wont' do it. It was pretty clear that all the NFL employees were running the with the company line blah blah blah.

Goodell needs to go, step down, be fired, retire, whatever; zero confidence in the man.
