When are we going to quit messing around with ISIS and just kill them all?

Featured Replies

When will the USA come out and say this is a religious war, ISIS is already at war with us, and the goal of ISIS is to kill every American?

The below line is from the movie Terminator:

Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

The same line edited applies here:

Simple question, if a Terminator was real (Arnold type or that silly Robert Patrick type) what is the only thing you could do to keep it from killing you?

The answer with the Terminator and ISIS (and anyone like them) is very simple, kill them.

How do you go about doing that Guru?

When we named it "A War on Terror" we immediately gave it an open end that can't really be closed. Terror is a tool.

The problem is ideology that is at war. How do you defeat an ideology? Can you ever truly eradicate it? No. You can make it less of a threat.

The US is historically a country that fights other countries. Factional warfare is much more difficult. For one thing, ISIS has no country we can invade and conquer and declare victory. (One of the reasons I suspect we diverted our attention away from the Taliban and over to Iraq and Baghdad)

Now, can we go to war with where ISIS is? Certainly. But how do we get out of it once it is won? What does winning look like? What do we sacrifice to achieve that victory?

A lot of great questions that I don't have the answers to.

Deep down in I think most of us know killing ISIS is the solution but accomplishing it is extremely complicated.

Have you ever read the Koran (or Quran)? Islam advocates compelled conversion with the consequences of declining being decapitation. In this sense, all Islam is radical. The teachings of Islam are incompatible with requirements and values of being a US Citizen. Many will call me bigoted for this kind of expression, but I say read the Koran for yourself and decide.

No, but I did add (and anyone like them) to my rant.

That being said, in my view, a much larger security vulnerability results from unsecured borders. Foreign nationals routinely cross are borders. Political interests on every spectrum of ideology have entrenched interests in the status quo. Foreign nationals, or, implanted nationals transporting and detonating wmd in this country. Its going to happen.

I have been preaching that for 20 years. Both parties failed the USA on immigration.

Cockroaches and Twinkies. Those are the only two things I want surviving.

We will never eradicate it. We can only hope to manage it. I wish it were as simple as killing them all. ISIS is much better funded and much more organized than al-Queda ever was. They occupy 1/3 of Syria and 1/3 of Iraq. They have been regional mostly and have shown little interest in attacking the west, however, we all know that can change. Ground forces will not get them. Airstrikes are what bothers them and the have reacted to that by beheading journalists. The other downside is that we put many more citizens at risk with airstrikes.

It will take a great amount of time and expense monetarily and unfortunately lives, but we have to do it. As we are discussing this many more branches are forming and in 5 years when ISIS is handled, one of them will pop up. As Hatz said terrorism is the tool, ideology ids the issue and it is impossible to stop that IMO.

We could only hope that eradicating ISIS was all we had to do. I am not sure anyone knows what the solution is.

ISIS respects nothing from the west...our values, our political rhetoric, our way of life or our freedom. Trying to appease them is like a seal trying to befriend a Great White off of the coast of South Africa...it ain't going to happen.

The BEST solution would be for other Middle Eastern countries to handle this uprising by banding together for the greater good. But we all know there will never be a widespread ME Coalition to go after them.

The practical solution (by far not the best) is to give them the fight they want and blow the :poop: out of them; target their leadership, their infrastructure and anything of value that they hold.

IMO ISIS will strike the US Mainland and it would not surprise me if it happened any day. If/When that happens, we need to come down like the Wrath of God on them.

If/When that happens' date=' we need to come down like the Wrath of God on them.[/quote'] Agreed! Even though I do not agree with Obama on many things I have never been overly upset at him, until now! As Chaney mentioned last week, Obama has this view of the world, but he is living in a fantasy, the world isn't perfect and we need to act, and now!

As Bush stated after 9-11, we will either bring our enemies to justice, or bring justice to our enemies.

Not sure where to put this put I figured it may fit here. Is it true that11 commercial planes are missing in Libya?

It's such a complicated problem to deal with. It's very difficult to even know who is ISIS and who isn't. It's also hard to think about but I fear that ISIS lives here in America and one of these days, they'll make their presence known.

I'm the naive and complacent American who lives without fear in my country. I ain't worried about them fools.
