Do the Iraqis or Afghans, or Syrians, or Persians, or Lebanese, or Palestinians lay down their arms and not dare poke the United States to feel their wrath?

Won't belabor the point because you raised an excellent perspective in your post. But removing Sadaam was NEVER the stated goal of that war. Our aim was to liberate Kuwait and cripple the Iraqi army. We accomplished both in 1991. Hence our easy capture of Iraq in 2003.

Those days are only gone as long as we have a president committed to doing as little a possible to fight the evil that is radical Islam. We may never have a surrender agreement like those that Japan and Germany signed following WWII, or that Iraq signed at the end of the Gulf War - but this country remains fully capable of demoralizing Islamic terrorists. Barack Obama will go down in history, not only as our worst president ever, but as our worst foreign policy/war time president ever.

 

I debated whether to start a yet another new thread highlighting Obama's total incompetence in prosecuting the war on Islamic terror, but decided to post a link to an article below instead.

 

al-Qaeda and its offshoot, ISIS (or, if you prefer ISIL or IS), which Obama and his backers assured us did not even exist in Iraq, were never on the run as Obama claimed and Obama knew that was never the case. Why has he done almost nothing in the past year to make the case for destroying ISIS and why is he still downplaying its threat to national security?

 

The answer to that question is, in part, he does not want to anger his core constituency of peacenics that so hated President Bush and helped put him into office with the mid-term elections looming. In short, Obama had hoped to run the clock out like poorly coached basketball teams often try to sit on a narrow lead until the buzzer signals the end of the game. That strategy has obviously failed.

 

ISIS fighters are not ten feet tall and bulletproof. Obama only makes them appear so in comparison to his cowardly self. ISIS's unconditional surrender will come when enlisting with their army will be equivalent to suicide and there is no glory in suicide.

The primary objective of Operation Neptune Spear was to capture or kill the leader of al Qaeda. But a handful of those on the ground that night were part of a “Sensitive Site Exploitation” team that had a secondary mission: to gather as much intelligence from the compound as they could.

 

With bin Laden dead and the building secure, they got to work. Moving quickly—as locals began to gather outside the compound and before the Pakistani military, which had not been notified of the raid in advance, could scramble its response—they shoved armload after armload of bin Laden’s belongings into large canvas bags. The intelligence trove was immense. For those who will read the entire article, you will learn that the seized materials did not paint a picture of an enemy on the run. Even worse, it is clear that our government did not fully exploit the materials that were seized in the raid of Obama's hideout.

Trust me Mountain Ref, you have probably done more to mock God in some of these posts than I have to question a pagan (do a little more digging about the origins of the tree and the date of Christmas) ritual you seem obsessed by. While researching, might check into the prophets words that speak of a God who is not bound by the trappings of temple, tradition and mindless repetition. :thumb:

I agree with you that military action and force must be used to stop these people. My concern is that it's not a simple as the examples you used.

 

Japan, Italy, Germany - all had capitals and governments and armies that wore uniforms. It was easier to establish goals, measure them and impose our will until capitulation.

 

ISIS isn't like that. They don't have a capital to fire bomb. Their army, when threatened will slink back into the framework of the territory around them. It's a little harder to see how our goals and tactics are working and how we measure victory.
