I agree with you 100%. No coach would ever tell an unproven player that they are going to start no matter what. Especially if there is a kid with similar skills fighting for the same position.

If Martin gets to Qb, I think Conner could pull this one out. The coaches seem to keep Martin standing on the sidelines, my opinion he is the better Qb. He was told last year that he was going to start as Qb but haven't seen that yet. There are too many clicks on Conners football team, I'm guessing he is in the wrong one. Conner was using him as WR, he would be open in the back field and Padgett would throw short passes to either side for no yards. I seen the same thing with Michael Postal, wide open, short pass to the side for no yards. They need to air the ball out. I think it's going to be a good game, going with Conner by a touchdown.

 

On the QB situation, based on what I saw in the Beechwood scrimmage, the offense runs much better with Padgett at QB. Padgett made better decisions, better throws and looked better running the ball.

With all the youth and inexperience on Conner, if Boone loses this game they are in serious trouble in 6A. I expect Boone to win by 2 TD's+.

I also thought PAdgett looked better, but if Martin isn't the starting QB I sure hope they play him a lot at WR. I hate to see a good player and athlete like h im not get a lot of playing time his senior year. I think he'd be a fine receiver.

I think your the only one that thinks that, the best kids will be on the field at the position they can help the team, I could assure you that, if a kid works his tail off, does what the coaches tell him and expect of him, and is able to understand their job and reads, I guarantee you he will be in the right click!!:no:

I guarantee you that the coach would rather win than play his favorites as to what you are suggesting here.

Coach T will play the best QB period. If it isn't the one you want to start that doesn't mean he doesn't like #11, it simply means he thinks the other kid gives the team a better chance to win.

 

Your first sentence tells us all we really need to know. You don't think Conner will win unless #11 plays QB which is sad to think about because if that is the case then you may have one long and depressing season this year.

I haven't seen either play to know who looks better. However it sounds like from post on here that the other QB has looked better. Not to mention with the other kid being a year younger, it only makes sense to go with the younger one if they two are about even in the competition.

I expect Padgett to get the nod at QB for the Cougars this season and I think he will continue to improve as the season progresses. His teammates must respect him to elect him as a team captain as a junior. Now he needs to go out and lead this young Cougar team and be the leader this team needs. Use Martin in the slot and move him all over the place to get the ball in his hands. Kid can make some plays. Best of luck to the Cougars Friday night.

If Padgett truly got the nod, wish him a great season, have said since the beginning want Cougars to be successful. Hope Martin gets a chance to shine wherever coach decides to put him. Guess time will tell...
