Waiting to give birth to my 2nd....Kidney Stone.

Featured Replies

1st time was 3 years ago Labor Day and I literally "cried like a baby" it hurt so much.

This past Monday evening, just before bed, that uncomfortable feeling came over me. The pain lasted about 10 minutes and was pretty much tolerable, on a scale of 1 to 10 and 10 being VERY BAD, it was a 4. Yesterday had no pain whatsoever, however, this morning has I was heading to my 1st delivery the pain started to occur.

As I continued delivering the pain was about 5 or 6, and I thought I might be able to deal with it. However, as I began delivering in the Orleans subdivision (home to a few BGP'ers) the pain suddenly shot up to the 8-9 range and within a few minutes it was off the chart. At this moment I know I need to get to the hospital, and for those that know the area, however at this point I'm a "stones throw away" (pun intended) from Cooper High School and St. Elisabeth is a good 15 minutes away. I haul butt to St. E's, of course I encounter about 5 "Sunday" drivers who have to go 10 miles under the speed limit and spell out their entire name at every stop sign. I park my FedEx truck in front of the Emergency Room door and within minutes (following some colorful language) I'm getting a shot of morphine for the pain.

Cat Scan reveals a 3 millimeter stone and it is about to pass anytime. When I left, the pain had completely gone away, but I did get a prescription for Percocet if the pain reoccurs.

I WOULD NOT WISH THIS PAIN ON ANYONE!!!!

Thankfully I have never experienced that before. I hope I never do.

Good luck on your future "deliveries".

Still doesn't compare to giving birth...just sayin'

I've never experienced either, but many a woman has told me they'd rather give birth a hundred more times than experience another kidney stone. I can spot a kidney stone patient the moment they walk in the ER door. And I can tell the legit ones from the ones just wanting drugs.

Ever had a kidney stone?

yes, I have.

I've had numerous ones. Seem to get stuck just before getting to the bladder. I asked my GP to prescribe Flomax and it helped in passing the last one. Good Luck.

Farrah is one of few ladies I have heard say giving birth is more painful.

I echo what HT said...never had a kidney stone & hope I never do.

What size, and were your ureters or your urethra completely blocked?

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Take the urethra discussion to PM's you pervert.

Good lord, I don't remember what size. It was over 8 years ago. My babies were 9 lbs. each though.

Good heavens.

Trying to refrain from comments. Tough to do.
