She and I had just started dating when I had my kidney stone, so I didn't give her all the gory details about the experience. She got more of them last night. One thing that I might add that I haven't seen discussed here yet: going to the bathroom after you have passed the stones. My doctors told me "there will be some blood in your urine, possibly for a few days". Not to be overly-graphic, but what they didn't tell me was that the first time I went to the bathroom, it was going to look like I was peeing blood. Between that and the pain from the urine passing over what I would have to assume was a badly scratched and gouged urethra, my legs went out from under me and I dropped to my knees mid-stream while I was standing at the toilet. When my wife asked what it felt like, the only logical thing I could think to say was, "It felt as if I was peeing out a rosebush."
