August 20, 201412 yr Good lord, I don't remember what size. It was over 8 years ago. My babies were 9 lbs. each though. My kidney stone was about 2.2cm when it completely blocked my left ureter. That caused a backup to my left kidney and caused it to expand proportionally. Unlike the bladder, uterus, and birth canal, a kidney isn't meant to expand - but boy oh boy did mine. They used shock wave lithotripsy to break the stone into four pieces: 7.4mm, 6.1mm, 4.7mm, and 3.8mm. I passed two of the four of those naturally, and the third and fourth (the 7.4mm and 6.1mm) pieces they had to go up with a uretascope, grab, and pull through. So not only did I have to go deal with the urine back up expanding my kidney like a water balloon, but I also had to pee out two jagged little stones and have two more (one of which was 3/4 of a centimeter in size) pulled out with a tool. And all of that was done through organs and body parts that are NOT biologically designed for that function - unlike the uterus and birth canal, which have biologically evolved over the course of eons specifically to expand to gestate and deliver a human baby.
August 20, 201412 yr In response to the first couple of replies: A lot of medical professionals would argue (subjective obviously) that by patient responses, kidney stones bring upon some of the worst pain of any injury/condition INCLUDING birthing a child. I know this from working in the ER.

Both of my parents have NEVER has them, guess they have to start with someone. :( I was told I had to give up: Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Soft Drinks. Some much for my Mtn. Dew and Hershey bar dipped in peanut butter that enjoy a few nights a week. :cry:
