Somewhere out there I can here Adam Reed saying, "Now just a minute, boys."

Other team falls for the ol' "act like you are going to the wrong basket to start the half" play.

I don't. Think I've seen that before.

Adam was an outstanding ball player & one of the best in Bracken's history, but I see Austin on a completely different level from anyone that has ever played for the Polar Bears. And by the time he moves on to the next level, I believe his career numbers will back that up and then some.

I'm hearing Adam is on staff this year, anyone else hearing that.

I went to school with Adam and he was one of the best to grace the floor at BCHS. With that said I'm with Randy in saying Austin is on a whole other level.

I've also heard Adam will be on the staff next season. Maybe even freshman coach. I've not heard anything definite just rumor.

All you young whipper snappers cannot remember maybe the best player ever at Bracken. How about #44 The Big Horse" Eddie Hopkins. He still is Bracken's leading scorer and has been for 38 years. He scored 33 against Highlands and 24 against Male and a player named Darrell Griffith. He was a great athlete and a state and National champion softball player. I am glad to call him my friend!!!!

I also remember watching Eddie play and was at the HS game they played Louisville. Eddie played right with the Louisville team and future Louisville NCAA champion member Griffith. The surprising thing is Eddie and Austin are similar in size and if my memory serves me, I think Austin may be taller

now. Based on what I'm hearing about Bracken co basketball schedule, Austin and the rest of

the team may have some games against that calibar of teams and it will be interesting to see

how Austin does. He definitely faced some of that type competition this summer and had some

solid games. When does the season start !!!!!

Wasn't Hampton one of the starting guards in the Louisville Male game? Have always wondered how a juggernaut at that time(Male) came to little ole Brooksville to play the Polar Bears? Griffith and Bobby Turner were high school rock stars at that time. Where did the team stay at? Did they drive back to Louisville after the game? I don't think anyway ever knew.

Bracken Co vs. Louisville Male. December 20, 1974. Boxscore:

Bracken--Ken Crawford 4, Tom Buser - 10, Tim Bess - 8, David Hampton - 5, Eddie Hopkins - 24, Doug McDowell - 4, Mike Sharp - 4. (59).
