Mike Listerman named Holmes new Head Coach, 1 and out?

Featured Replies

Due to late departure of their coach, does Listerman have a 1yr. deal and open it up to another selection of coaches to interview during the course of the coming year to select someone else or is this their man going forward?

Correct title to COACH please!

I think coach Listerman is there for the long haul. Unless he doesn't want to continue as head coach.

I would tend to agree. I would think it is his job as long as he wants it to be.

Mike is planning on retiring in 2016 unless this changes his plans.

I can see him coaching for the next two years.

This should make the CCH/Holmes games even more fun to watch!

No surprise here, good luck to the new coach. Fire them up and enjoy the ride.

Beetle as his teammates must be salivating at the prospect of walking the ball up the court each possession.

How long has Coach Listerman been teaching?

Henley did and it worked out OK.

Who was the principal who ran Coach Listermann off from Covcath or did he run off a principal?

Rowe was the principal when Listerman resigned but I wouldn't say it was Rowe who ran him off and still is the principal today. It was a general consensus that it would be best for Coach L to step down. Mike Listerman is a great person who really cares about his players and tried to teach real life lessons in and outside the class room along the actual class curriculum. That being said, it was best for both parties for Listerman to leave. If Coach L was still the coach, CCH is probably not your 2014 state champs. Although, I do think Listerman has the ability to lead a team to a state title. Look at Dave Brossart at Dixie. He simply was not the right fit for CCH in football. It was obvious from the beginning. I think "resigning" was the best thing for him. He probably learned a lot, became and better coach because of it, and is now doing a fine job at Dixie. Could be a similar scenario for Coach L.

Very true. Sometimes you get a new "point of view" when stepping through another door.

And if the new coach doesn't bring his son they would not have brought home a title either.

So, now Coach L is put on the same list as Brossart, in regards to time spent at CCH?

And if the new coach doesn't bring his son they would not have brought home a title either.

This is no doubt accurate. The old coach's sons were excellent players for the Colonels, as well.
