August 1, 201412 yr I'd have been thrown out, also, if I were Redmond, even knowing there ws nothing I could do. No common sense with this rule. I mean he was out by a mile. I might buy it if it were a bang bang play. This clearly was not.
August 1, 201412 yr I'm all for the Reds winning. But that's a pansy rule. No wonder football has taken over. No doubt. I feel like I just slept with a cheap harlot accepting those runs.
August 1, 201412 yr I was able to rewind it and watch the play at the plate. First, Cozart had no business tagging up on that ball. He was out by a mile. Second, the catcher definitely broke the rule. Third, the rule is awful and needs to be changed in the offseason.

August 1, 201412 yr That has nothing to do with FA.   OK. Please explain to me why or how the Angels would have paid Albert Pujols $240 million if he was still controlled by the Cardinals.
August 1, 201412 yr No doubt. I feel like I just slept with a cheap harlot accepting those runs. Me too. But I'll get over it.

August 1, 201412 yr That was a gift, but I'll take it. Still believe we are going nowhere. Better hope so or Walt wins GM of the year and the Reds once again make no changes in the off season and are an early playoff victim, ala like their neighbors the Bengals.

Your post said that the discrepancy in team payrolls was because of FA. NBA has FA. NFL has FA. Those two do not have a discrepancy. They have a cap. FA has nothing to do with that.
August 1, 201412 yr Isn't it interesting that there were two almost identical plays at the plate in the game. Both runners are out by a mile. But Pena plays the ball the right way under the new rule and gets the out. Marlins catcher doesn't play it the new rule way and the Reds get the run by New York overrule and go on to get the win.
