As much as I loved this rivalry back in the day, let's remember it's a basketball game and not about Coach Listerman or Coach Ruthsatz.

Congratulations. That is great news for Coach Listerman and for the Bulldogs.

 

Coach L. performed exemplary service in the classroom, the community and on the court for Cov. Cath. I am a big supporter of his but recognize it was probably best for all concerned when he moved on from Park Hills.

 

I wish him nothing but success (except, of course, when the Bulldogs play the Colonels).

Congrats to Coach L. I know he is very excited.

Not referring to any particular jobs in Ky, but I do know of many times an assistant was hired in a fairly big time situation and had no experience at any level and didn't last long at all. I have seen it happen from the juco level down to the high school level. This is most certainly not the case here as we all know how qualified Coach L is and how much he deserves this.

I'm sure coach L would be foaming at the mouth for the CovCath games if he were the head coach at Holmes.

 

If you know Coach L, you know he literally foams at the mouth over any opponent.

This really was a "no brainer" if Coach L wanted the job. Tons of experience and success, he knows the kids and they know him, plus the talent pool that is almost always there. There is very little parent interference, good facilities, excellent assistants and very little, if any interference from administration. The only issue at Holmes are the challenges the urban kid brings sometimes. It isn't all the kids, but more than the normal/most programs. You really have to be a "father figure" for many of the kids, tough and nurturing at the same time. His three years there as an assistant has to have helped him understand the urban kid in greater depth to be able to accomplish that. Again, these are good kids, by and large, and he should know how to handle them. I don't see them missing a beat. They have most definitely one of the best players in the state, that always helps.

 

The cupboard isn't bare for many years forthcoming, either.
