I think so. Back at the prison, right? Also, Daryl has killed at least a snake and a possum recently. There was also the pack of dogs that the group had to shoot.

What's up with horses being eaten by walkers? I don't think I've seen any other animals on the show, let alone them being devoured by zombies.

 

The horse that Rick rode into Atlanta in the very first season got eaten.

They definitely eat animals too if they can catch them. Several horses, many deer, I think I recall a cow or two and some pigs.

Someone commented they recruited Rick and Company to protect them from another group they are worried about? Wouldn't they be in the lookout tower checking for them?

I mentioned that they might know another group is out there. Rick and the group is settling in, feeling at home, Chone putting up her sword. They are about to get a rude awakening from the wolves or whisperers, whatever they choose to call them.

 

What I don't know is if this is going to be a small conflict or are they going to coin this group the main event. Technically, there should be two groups out there but I don't know how they are going to produce it, how many seasons are left.

They showed a walker eating a deer before if I'm not mistaken.

 

I think it was season one, Daryl shot a deer and when he found it walkers were eating it.

I'm going to answer this below in white font. You'll have to highlight it to read because it's a big-time spoiler.

 

The Whisperers are a present threat in the comic book storyline & have been introduced just a few issues ago. Basically, they're humans who put on the skin of walkers, similar to Leatherface in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. They travel with the walkers and can do so freely because the walkers think they're one of them. But they communicate to each other by whispering & it's very, very creepy. I think Robert Kirkman introduced them (brilliantly) to make the walkers a threat again. Again, they are just now being introduced to the story, but they certainly seem to be a seriously terrifying threat to the group's attempt to rebuild civilization--a process that is going really well for them right now.

That would explain a need to mark walkers.
