I've tried numerous times to get into Breaking Bad. Can't do it. Just not good.

I'm in the same boat. I've made it through 4th season on Netflix and quit.

Maybe I was expecting to much. But the writing just isn't that impressive.

Not reading the thread as I don't want to see any spoilers. Right now I am on the Season 3 Finale of Sons of Anarchy. Did the Breaking Bad thing about a year ago. The first three seasons are definitely in the favor of SOA. Breaking Bad has a folk lore and comedic element about it and I thought it was great. While far fetched it had a human element we can relate to. SOA is awesome thus far, but I can see it being too far fetched for some when comparing the two.

The 4th season is right when I thought it really picked up and got good.

Well we had a biker shootout at a local motel this weekend in Somerset, supposedly between some local "Clubs" and out of town "Clubs"...maybe SoA is as far fetched as some would think...:lol2:

It's light years ahead of SOA...

That's one shooting. There were several mass murders in SOA that no one seemed to care about.

Someone told me that Kurt Sutters next show is called "The Executioner" based on Medieval times. Anyone else heard that or know more about it?

They started talking about this during the last season of SOA. Filming apparently started in March, and a few weeks ago, FX announced that the series had been picked up for a fall 10 episode fall launch. I'm thinking that means fall of 2016 because I would think they'd be in pretty active promo mode if it was launching this fall. IMDB has some info about the series. Katie Segal will be in the series.

And I disagree

I just finished the Sons of Anarchy yesterday and wow, what a show! I tried to get into Breaking Bad and just couldn't do it. Mr. Cat loved it though.

And I disagree

There are so many holes in SOA it's not funny. Still a good show for the most part...but the writing isn't as good as BB.

Let's not talk about holes or plausibility when defending Breaking Bad.

Or when defending practically anything on television or in the movies.

Count me in as a huge BB vote .. tried to watch SOA and got thru 1-2 episodes ... BB had me begging for more after episode 1 . The acting and directing of BB was the GOAT . Heck Skylars sister and the DEA agent were enough to watch episode repeats .
