Yes. You'll not be able to convince me that Weinrich is a better coach than Chuck. Weinrich may have more horses in his stable and could put a running clock on Boyle. That doesn't make him a better coach. Unfortunately for Chuck if Boyle were to face Highlands and lose handily people will say Weinrich is a better coach.

There is less pressure on Smith than Weinrich.

 

Boyle was 13-1 last season and lost in the playoffs in a game no one feels they should have lost. Boyle doesn't t lose much of anyone on the season and they bring in the one coach who brings in instant credibility from day one and turns up the intensity and sense of urgency to win from day one.

 

Highlands was state runner-up and lost in a fashion made for a movie. Weinrich inherits a machine and if that machine falters any at all it will be all his fault.

 

Disagree, HHS' loss takes a lot of pressure off BW but the second coming puts Smith in the crosshairs.

Don't know about 2014, but 2013 was. Almost let Warren Central back in the game before winning by 2. Not as impressive against Covington Catholic as many had hoped they'd be, but you'd have thought that game wrapped up State for them. Lexington Catholic cuts a 42-14 lead into a 49-35 final, and were down only 7 with less than 3:00 left. Wrap that up with a loss to Collins at State.

 

Very good team? Without a doubt. Beatable? Yes.

 

This wasn't 2012 Trinity just rolling through the in-state competition. IMO, this was a very good team with lots of tradition who'd have had many more questions raised if they didn't have the name on the front of their jerseys. Looking back, you can see some signs that were there.

I have no idea how HHS will do and the reason is because each year they have so many new starters and lately more times than not that hasn't been a problem.

 

I have been on the Hoge bandwagon for a long time and think he will be one of the best in the area.

 

Now I do wonder if they lose early will they be the Trinity of 2013? T fans were hard to admit their team simply wasn't as good as many of them thought they were.

Nah, this isn't 1992 again. Chuck inherits some quality talent that would likely be facing LexCath in round 3 even if he wasn't here. We'll find out if they can beat them in November. I have yet to hear one person say we're going to beat LexCath let alone Highlands so all he has to do is make sure his team competes and makes it to round 3 and folks will likely be happy. What happens if Highlands doesn't make the state finals or even worse....loses to CovCath?

Beau Hoge is the real deal. Can kill you with his feet or arm and is an extremely smart football player. I bet he can probably break down game film better than most head coaches..
