Reds @ Giants (6/26 - 6/29)

Like Colonel Crazy, I had an early day today, so didn't end up staying up for the entirety. Glad to see my man come away with the win.

Always nice to win the 1st game, especially since the team didn't get to the hotel until 3 am local time.

- Really like seeing Bruce getting on a little hot streak.

- Ludwick has been quietly solid this season.

- Leake seems like the forgotten man of the staff. Hasn't had the wins like Simon, hasn't been dominant like Cueto, and hasn't had the hype that Latos' return has, but he's been insanely solid. 6-6 with ~3.35 ERA. I'll take that any day.

Tonight's game should be a battle. Cueto vs. Bumgarner...First team to score wins.

They'll steal a page from the World Cup and go to hit differential.

I think Leake is certainly the most underappreciated pitcher for the Reds, and heck maybe even the National League. Coming into this year, I heard a lot of people that had already elevated Cingrani ahead of him. But, I'm not so sure on some staffs that some clubs may look at Leake as a solid #3 (or maybe even a #2!) But, on the Reds, fans figure he's only a #5, because he doesn't throw a 95mph heater.

No, if they were to do that, it'd end in a tie. Only in the playoffs (knockout round) would they use the hit differential.

Leake is starting to remind me of Greg Maddux. His off-speed stuff that he used for "out" pitches last night was fantastic.

Reds starting pitching has been outstanding this year....50 QS in 78 games.

Cueto - 14 of 16 QS

Simon - 13 of 16 QS

Leake - 10 of 16 QS

Bailey - 8 of 16 QS

Cingrani - 3 of 11 QS

Latos - 2 of 3 QS

Really could use Meso's bat against the lefty Bumgarner tonight. Would be the perfect night to give Votto his day off, and catch Meso and put Pena at 1st base.

Meso at first Pena at C. At some point in the future they will have to entertain the option of Meso playing somewhere other than catcher IMO. He's going to be too good of a hitter.

I was going to say that I usually feel more comfortable knowing Leake is on the mound vs. Bailey and your stats show that I guess.

This team is on quite the roll
