Highlands 2014

Featured Replies

This doesn't have anything to do with 2014 in a direct sense, just a weird stat. Prior to 2013 Highlands was football runner-up 5 times. These years were 1959, 1963, 1966, 1995 and 2003. The interesting fact is 4 times/ 1960,1964, 1996 and 2004 they followed the runner-up with a state championship. My memory isn;t what it use to be and I moved out of the area in 1979. Just wondering if the champion teams were a result of the previous year being junior dominated or Highlands just being Highlands? I figure it was a combination of both--anyone out there have any help on this.

Nah. I would equate it to the other team being better that game. Pretty simple.

Agree with Tdy...Birds have to get back to business this campaign. There is a legacy to continue and the kids know it:thumb: Just sayin

How big is Hoge?

I am guessing 6-1ish+ and 195 to 200lbs

Those are really close numbers and solid measurables

How big is Hoge?

6'0-6'1 185-190lbs..

You obviously haven't seen BH since last season.

I am going to guess that Hergott is going to have to do what McCoy' date=' Houliston and Hoge have done and that is to wait his turn and when the opportunity presents itself, he needs to take the bull by the horns.[/quote']

Does a possible injury to the TE tonight change things for the 6 foot 4 or 5 Hergott?

I think it changes the scheme from 3 WR/1 TE back to a 4 WR set.

Hergott is the JV and back-up varsity QB. That is where he needs to continue to get reps.

Not sure I agree with that IF he is able to play TE. Hoge was the backup QB last year and started @ WR. Once again @ Highlands players that could help out are standing on the sideline "waiting their turn"

For selfish reasons I hope not. It was very nice seeing a TE being used it sparked interest in the program. Can someone in the know PM me with info about the injury. SR was playing well.

I think Hergott is more like Towles or Houliston than being like McCoy or Hoge.

Mitchell Cain will probably move into the 4th WR spot.

He looked great. He could be a real weapon, obviously. I hope that he is ok.
