WH Press Jay Carney quits

I laugh every day when I see these ordinary, uneventful stories become political footballs on the non-sports threads.

I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I'm articulate.

And athletic, but you'd have to let POTUS beat you on the court or you'd be gone!

Who's made it political?

It's no longer noteworthy when high-level governmental workers get off Uncle Sam's payroll to make big bucks in the private sector. Fairly recent examples include former 4th District Congressman Geoff Davis (now a lobbyist) and Fox propagandrix Dana Perino of "The Five."

What does you being able to paint have anything to do with it?

I say rbis again, I need to stop reading BGP without my contacts. I thought he said incorrigible

After his years as Obama's Press Secretary, Carney lacks the credibility to land a good job in his chosen profession. He would fit right in with the NBC stable of propagandists. Mike McCurry demonstrated how to speak on behalf of a corrupt president while maintaining some personal credibility, IMO. Carney did a very poor job and I doubt that he is smart enough to make an honest living.

Nah...he'd have to earn every point.

If this thread is not going to get political and everybody stays nice on both sides of the aisle, what fun is that?:idunno:

I do think the timing was planned, to the day, of the VA announcement. According to reports, Carney announced in April he was going to leave, so not surprising. I don't care which side of the aisle you are on, this is a thankless job that has to come with an incredible amount of stress.

I couldn't go out there day after day and get beat up by people questioning me…or could I ? Seems to be much like being a HS official !

I hate that. Jay handled the press very well. That's a tough job. Hopefully his successor will be good.

Jay Carney's job was difficult because it is hard to knowingly lie on a daily basis. No chance I could ever do this job.
