Famous people still support Obama

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I'm back and will be more careful about how I word my posts this time. Hope nobody's feelings got hurt! The word bigot is offensive to some and I will do my best to keep my reservations on the issues in which that word can come up. I will do my best to not use it again and if I get a thought about it I will try to replace it with a nicer word.

Now, onto my question. Obama has earned the support of many athletes, movie stars, and those in the television industry. Despite the fact that his approval ratings are slipping somewhat, he still maintains popularity amongst our role models.

No conservative has been able to give a good response to this yet - but if Obama is SUCH a BAD president, then why does he garner the support of all these famous people?

A lot of people will always be drawn to power, that is never going to change.

For many to admit that the President hasn't lived up to expectations would make them feel as if they were wrong to begin with. So many will stick with him or others to the bitter end rather admit they were wrong.

They would support a baloney sandwich if it were liberal, ever seen them not support one no matter how pitiful they are?

Why would I care what famous people think about politics?

Because you're supposed to be a lemming, not think for yourself.

Seems like another one of those threads.

Actually, I believe there are many conservative "famous people", they don't get the media exposure, nor do many of them seek it. Therein lies another of the differences in ideology.

So to put this in context, your thoughts will still be the same, you will just try to use "nicer" words. Well, substituting "rainbow bunnies" for bigot still doesn't help anything if the idea/thought process behind it is wrong in the first place. Just saying.

The fact that he thinks famous people are role models tells me all I need to know about the motives of this thread.

Are you saying famous and intelligent are synonymous?

Really, your role models are celebrities and famous people? That is sad!

I think we have already talked about people being denied their rights in other threads. So, I'm going to stick to the topic in this thread.

This is one that Republicans have a tough time answering. It's a zinger. Doesn't the opinion of someone like LeBron James, Bruce Springsteen, Whoopi Goldberg, or Oprah Winfrey mean something to you?

Not in the least, why should it? I really don't get the view that so-n-so is famous so I should think like they do.

Honestly, as messed up as much of the Hollywood gang is, it makes me feel good that most of my view contradict their views.

Now, show me someone who truly is a role model, then I may be interested in the views. I was watching a show of Gen Norman Schwarzkopf. He is someone I would consider a role model and would be interested in his views.

You should. Very open-minded group of people that are very intelligent. I think they would sway your opinion on a couple issues. Obama has been on there.
