May 28, 201412 yr 17 teams have went longer than the Reds without a championship. Forgive me if I don't take your "100% negative all day, every day" outlook. Why fans go out of their way to make themselves miserable is beyond me. Thought about becoming a part time Cubs fan so I would feel a lot better about the Reds. :lol2:

May 28, 201412 yr So you think they are on the brink of a championship? Where did I ever say anything close to that? I think they suck this year. No clue what they'll be going forward, and honestly don't care. I refuse to be day in, day out doom and gloom. Again, why do you make yourself miserable over it? Aren't people supposed to be fans for the love and enjoyment of the sport? Why be a fan of something that you're so constantly negative and miserable over?
May 28, 201412 yr It's still too early for me to pass judgement on this team. The 2005 Astros were like 11-30 at one point, and made it to the World Series that year, anything is possible when you still have over a hundred games left.

May 28, 201412 yr When do you think it would be time to worry? 50 games left? Worry? I'm worried now, but I'm not labeling this season a failure with this many games left. 7.5 games out in May is a lot different than 7.5 games out in September

I refuse to be day in, day out doom and gloom. Again, why do you make yourself miserable over it? Aren't people supposed to be fans for the love and enjoyment of the sport? Why be a fan of something that you're so constantly negative and miserable over? Not miserable at all. Just wish the team I have rooted for for over 40 years is a little better than average. As a fan I do care about the direction the team is headed in.
May 28, 201412 yr Worry? I'm worried now, but I'm not labeling this season a failure with this many games left. 7.5 games out in May is a lot different than 7.5 games out in September Agreed. I question Price alot. I think in the past couple series and especially in this one, he has made some ignorant decisions. Not to mention half of our lineup couldn't hit a beach ball.
May 28, 201412 yr This team needs players with attitudes. They need to start drafting players that not only have talent, but players that get ticked off when they lose. The 90's team had plenty of players like that. Rob Dibble, Norm Charlton, Paul O'Neill to name a few. They have attitude players, isnt that what BP is?
May 28, 201412 yr 50 games with 28 losses means they have to play 60% winning baseball to get to 88 wins, which would put them at the cusp of a playoff, according to Daugherty. I just don't see this team doing that. I will follow but my expectations are really low. Even with Votto and Latos eventually coming back, I still don't feel it. They just cannot hit consistently with these players to win enough games. Bruce will get hot and carry them somewhere along the way, as he always does, for a couple of weeks or a month, but it won't get them there.
May 28, 201412 yr Interesting TV contract note: Time Warner Cable paid some serious money to the Dodgers. They then created their own sports network to carry the games. Problem is that they only reach about 30% of the Dodger fans. They are wanting other carriers to pay $4/month/subscriber to carry the network. Apparently that is very high and the other carriers have said no. 70% of Dodger fans can't see their team on TV. 5,4,3,2,....
May 28, 201412 yr If some company wanted me to pay $4 a month for all Reds games I would do it. That is like $25. What price point would be too high?
