Jumbo will be here long before Marmol gets a chance.

Jumbo & Marmol can take the spots of Hoover & Ondrusuck, effective immediately.

In all reality, the chances of Marmol ever suiting up for the Reds is slim.

He had 10 walks in 13 innings this year for Miami. Last year for LA, he walked 19 in 21 1/3.

The more I look at this roster, the more it points directly to Walt Jocketty with a plethora of bad trades, and more importantly, bad contracts, that are hurting the Reds.

Sure, he made some good moves like Simon and Latos. But Broxton's deal is terrible. The Marshall trade turned out to be awful and the contract is bad as well. It was widespread rumor that we could have had Victorino for Logan Ondrusek. Gave away Hanigan (not that we shouldn't have traded him, but we netted nothing in return). Ludwick deal isn't good for the production. Roger Bernadina isn't hitting his weight and is our best option as a 5th OF. Heck, people were complaining about the BP deal, but at the end of the day, you can't say he isn't out there playing everyday and hitting .280. And still, that probably isn't a great deal. Of the current roster, only 3 have been drafted by Walt.

You can yell and scream at the manager all you want, but at the end of the day, they are playing the hand they are dealt, and the Reds have pretty much sold out for the last couple years, and are maybe paying for it a bit this year.

^Yep. At some point people will realize he's not done a very good job. He's skating by on the reputation he built in St. Louis IMO.

Here's my deal, really. If we are going to pay a SP, 1B, 2B, and Closer like we are a big market club, we also have to do that with the back end of our roster. Or we end up in situations like we have now. With people like Trevor Bell on the opening day

Also, we need to develop some of those recent draft picks at a higher rate.

I like the move' date=' honestly. If Marmol can throw strikes, he can be a solid arm out of the bullpen. If he continues to suck, well, he's probably still better than JJ Hoover.[/quote']

Not even close.

He did well in STL but wiped out the Minor League system while he did.

That's just crazy talk. Marmol sucks. Hoover started slowSt year. and was lights out for a huge stretch after that.

Which was the crux of my stance that they'd not only win 75 games this year, but that their window to compete has closed. This team is broken, you are 100% correct.

Then he should pitch somewhere else until July.

His reputation in St. Louis was not good at all. That is why they got rid of him. He drafted poorly and the Cardinals started to have issues with their roster. They cut ties and moved on. I also believe people do realize he is bad. He is ranked third from the bottom among all GM's in the most recent poll. Lance McAllister had an entire show devoted to that fact just last week.
