The Ville up 30-10 in championship game.

Absurd.... If the any team loses 3 of their best players, they are no longer the same team. Period! To suggest otherwise is ridiculous. Let's talk about something else please.

Louisville Magic 15s and Gators are going at it right now! 49-50 in the 4th.

Still have to play the games. If you lose, you lose. Nobody cares who you didn't have. If you couldn't field a team, don't play. If you can field a team, then play, and play to win. I'm sure those boys that were there fought hard and wanted to win. They lost. No excuses. When they have their guys back in the next tournament, they'll win. Don't give kids excuses, it downplays the energy, hustle, and work that the players put in who were there and ready to play.

Come on, it is what it is. I agree - hard to win down a couple of starters for much or all of a game. But, I bet this thread could be full of teams that would've won had their best player(s) not gotten in foul trouble. Maybe even not the kids' fault in some instances - perhaps a few bad calls. That certainly happens at KBA pretty regularly. Again, it is what it is.

To me, the Heat are the best team in 16U for the second straight year. There are another 4 teams (Magic, Manimal, Hoop Dreams and TBC) that are at similar levels. I would've liked to have seen where the Travelers 16U would've fit in that mix.

Roster?

Placed top 5 in AAU Nationals in Florida last 2 years playing their own age. Have played up in many of their tournaments.

Solomon Mathis (Kentucky Country Day but transferred from Christian Academy Louisville), Dylan Dunbar, Davis Bryant (Crosby Middle School), Marshon Ford, Tone Wales, Nick Olsofka (Christian Academy- Louisville) Ahmad Price, Alvin Thomas, Kobe Stanton, Anthony Wales are all from surrounding Louisville schools. (Don't know many of these kids' schools but I am pretty sure all are still in middle school)

JJ Reed and Nathan Stonecipher are from Paducah.

That's all I really know about them with some help.

KY heat up 11 in 10th grade final. 7:40 to go

The Bulldogs were down a 6'8 post.

Who was that?

It is actually the Kentucky Gators 14u team, they just played a grade up and won the 15u division.

The Ville rolled to 11th grade title. Evan Hall was a dominant force all weekend

Who was that?
Mitchell Bolin Dixie Heights Regional track meet.

A ton of great basketball played this weekend, I watched a couple Friday night games as well as games all day Saturday and there is so much talent in the state of KY, All these kids no matter win or lose should be proud of themselves as most every team I watched rather it be winning by 30 or losing by 30 had really good talent from top to bottom, I saw a lot of kids "playing up" that not only held their own but looked like they were more than comfortable in doing so. The only negative I saw all weekend was the officiating, it was flat out awful, you would think that KBA would do a better job at making sure tournaments that mean so much to these kids were at least officiated by officials that had a clue, I watched a 17u bracket game that ended with a 5 point win by a team that honestly didnt outplay the other team but when the foul count was 22-2 (yes 22 foul calls to only 2, and one of those 2 were a last second lob from half court at the end of the game) its hard to win, I had no alliance to either team and felt awful for the kids that lost as they were getting hammered every time they came down the floor and couldnt get a call to save their lives, and for a game like that where the officiating is in question the referees shouldnt be giving high fives and talking to the coach and players like they were buddies the entire game,it was very suspect in my opinion as an onlooker and i can only hope that KBA takes a stance to improve the level of officiating as It was bad in 90% of the games I watched, I over heard a lot of chatter after games from people claiming they will not return to KBA to play because of the officiating. But enough of the negatives, Congrats to all the kids and coach's who competed this weekend and I hope to hear some of these teams make noise at nationals!!!

Refs were sketchy at best but they always are. That seems to be the biggest complaint from everyone.
