Michael Jordan considered himself a racist as a teen

But in all seriousness I think this a pretty honest take from MJ he admits his faults and how he thinks he has changed. Like some said in the Hank Aaron topic I have no clue what he went through. Now if he still hates all white people I may have a problem.

Same here. As much as I despise MJ I am impressed he would admit this publicly.

Ditto.

You hate him 'cause he's the GOAT? :lol2:

Michael Jordan is black?

Michael Jordan is black?

Who?

Who?

Before your time pup.

Jordan didn't even communicate with the author of this biography. The basis for that statement came from an interview with MJ more than 20 years ago where he talked about a girl in high school calling him the N word.

"Michael Jordan made those statements in a 1992 interview with Playboy magazine, referring to a specific event from his childhood," the statement from Little, Brown and Company read. "This is reported in Lazenby's book, which is a definitive biography of MJ's life and covers Mr. Jordan's childhood thoroughly -- but Mr. Jordan did not make those statements to Lazenby for this book. As stated very clearly in previous interviews, Mr. Jordan did not participate in "Michael Jordan: The Life" by Roland Lazenby."

I hated him as a kid and that hate carried over to adulthood. I always resented the way he was exalted and praised when he played the game. He could do no wrong. He could have murdered his family and the press would have said it was another Michael Jordan that did it and they would have given him alibis. It was sickening and as long as I have been alive no athlete has ever been praised or revered the way Michael Jordan was.

I always hated that.

So maybe he can go to dinner with Paula Deen now. Now it's ok to admit to past racist behavior.

Not at all the same thing as Paula Deen.

No different than Tiger Woods. Leaps and bounds better than the next player. Hate the media, not the athlete.
