I think the poll is still out on the BG Purples. In my opinion, Purples lost a unit of skill players that probably were nationally ranked. With that said, 2013 is history. Ready for this group to make their mark. X and McCallie will be tough. May be a little bias but I say Purples go 9 and 1 and will get the fourpeat.

McCallie had a tough 2013 record of 4-8 but against the best in Tennesse (Ensworth, Siegel, Brentwood Acad, Montgomery Bell, etc.) and of course Bowling Green. But per MaxPreps they wound up 711 in US, which is not bad given those numbers. Their rugged scheduling is doubtless appreciated. So the BG-McC game should be a good one. I hope BG is not playing that dreadful team Blackman (TN) again. From the news reports, they did not exactly sound like sportsmen.

Who do we see Lex Cath losing to? Boyle Co. is a toss up, Bowling Green is a toss up as well because of all the athletes they lost to graduation. Lex Cath might get complaisant and get clipped by a lower tier team...

THS, any preseason scouting report on Cocoa? I know they were pretty good two years ago.

Impossible to predict what my Jags will do this year. They are gonna be young but smart, stingy on defense but playing their usual tough schedule. Only one game could be considered a sure thing (if those exist in HS football).

 

Eager to see who is at QB when the smoke clears and if Cordell-Armstrong can come back from that ugly break (leg) with strength and confidence.

 

Optimistically, 7-3.

Torrey is a great kid- I wish him the very best. He definitely needs some bulk though, so that he can take the kind of pounding that comes with playing RB.

Cov Cath will finish the regular season at be 9-1. Undefeated in Kentucky.

NewCath always has a tough non-district schedule against larger schools that has them prepared when it counts. The regular season finale with Beechwood has always been one of the best games in NKY to watch year in and year out.
