I think I would play but I would not acknowledge the existence of Sterling in any way. Not answer any questions about him, offer an opinion about him, not talk to him if he came in the locker room, etc. My focus would be for my coaches, teammates and the FANS. And IF the team was to make the NBA Final and win it, as a team I would not want to be anywhere near Sterling when he was receiving the trophy. After the season, I would speak with the NBA and the Player's Union regarding legal action against the owner and boycott any appearances for the team as long as he was the owner.

 

I am always of the opinion that if I own a business, I can do whatever the heck I want with it. However, when you disrespect folks who give you their hard earned money to be entertained by your employees that you also disrespected, you honestly don't deserve to be in business.

 

Now with the above being stated, a boycott of a playoff game would be a HUGE statement. And it would affect not only the owner and players monetarily, but also those who make a living working in and around the venue.

Best way to protest would be for the fans to stay home!!! Play it to an empty arena.

I echo this sentiment.

If the Clippers and Warriors had a pair, they'd jointly refuse to play again until Sterling is removed.

They won't, and he won't be, and it'll be business as usual for the NBA after a hollow apology and a 7 figure fine/donation from Sterling to some charity.

I agree but it's just not that simple. That will end in a long court battle.

I just listened to the audio and IMO, Sterling is all messed up on something. He makes absolutely no sense.

Google Donald Sterling racist, get back to me in a week when you read all the articles about him being a bigot piece of trash. He is a well known racist and if they did any research before agreeing to a contract they already knew it. This will at least force the league to do something about him because of the media firestorm. David Stern turned a blind eye to it for years.

 

Not defending Sterling at all, I hope they remove him from the league.
