Just because someone has an opinion that UK is on the rise with their new regime and in their opinion they will pass UL is not a troll move.

 

I know you all feel you upgraded and that's fine but I disagree I think Charlie was elite and it showed up at the end of each season at UL. Bobby is not elite in my opinion at this point. Hence why one is at Texas and one got out of Bowling Green.

Who isn't appreciative of Strong? His strengths and weaknesses are well known. Thought he was great. Wish he'd have stayed forever. Didn't happen. Petrino was the best coach out there available and Jurich jumped on it. Is there a problem here or are we just being contrarian because it's the silly season?

 

Your telling me with all the money UL has that Petrino was the best guy avail? When his track record shows; he quit in the NFL, was fired from Arkansas for a "pattern of misleading behavior." Jurich went for the quickest guy he could find. UL could have spent big money on almost any coach, they just didn't wanna go down that road and hey their choice. But I can't buy he was the best guy they can get. I actually realize UL has power.

What argument have you provided? Absolutely everything you've said in this thread is pure opinion. Nothing to back up your opinion whatsoever. I've provided at least twice the reason I feel Petrino will succeed, again, at Louisville.

 

Who said we upgraded from Strong? The only thing even remotely close to that has been us saying the offense should be better under Petrino, and we are okay with the hiring of Petrino. You're putting words in peoples mouth.

 

And using the "who's at Texas" argument is laughable. Apparently the NFL and an SEC team thought enough of Petrino's coaching to hire him. Texas has been average for several years. An upgrade from UofL as a program, no question. The only thing that has kept Petrino from a similar job are his off the field incidents.

This is ludicrous. Strong left. What was UofL supposed to do, just shut it down? Tom Jurich went out and found the best coach he could... one that has done pretty darn well over the years.

 

Everyone nowadays is quick to praise Strong but those same folks who praise him now that he's gone found it awfully puzzling that the Cardinals were eking out victories against lesser opponents like Memphis and Houston. It's ludicrous to pretend that Strong didn't have flaws now that he's somewhere else.

 

Said it already in this thread and I'll say it again: Strong was great and I wish he'd have stayed forever... he didn't. And no telling what his offense would have looked like without Bridgewater. He put a lot on that guy's shoulders without much of an offensive system to bolster his performance. Darn good thing Bridgewater was the best QB we've ever had or who knows how many of those one-touchdown games we might have lost.

 

And let's not pretend that Petrino was at Western for any reason having to do with his coaching. He was at Western because he acted like a buffoon in his personal life and dragged the university into his mess. He won a Cotton Bowl and went to a Sugar Bowl in his last two years at Arkansas. In his four years in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks went from 5-7 to 8-4 to 10-3 to 11-2.

This is the reason why Garrick Mcgee simply put "LOL" on his twitter, in reaction to brown's comments. Best show in town? give me a break. The only show in Lexington is the 1:40 pm showing of Brick Mansions at the Cinemark in the Fayette Mall.

Petrino is an outstanding coach with a proven track record that speaks for itself.

 

It's up to you to demonstrate the better options available as you were the one making the claim.
