Who pitched for BW? As someone mentioned on another thread, I'm sure BW didn't pitch a few if their top pitchers, as some pitched within a few days ago, and they have the All A coming up tomorrow.

How many games do these two have against each other this year? I assume they will face each other in the district?

Fieger pitched for Beechwood. Stringer closed. They will face each other again in the District tournament and possibly the Regional tournament.

Who pitched for CCH and how did the "super sophs" do?

Here is Skinner's story from the Enquirer:

http://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/high-school/kentucky-high-school/2014/04/22/covcath-goes-back-basics-defeat-beechwood/8035369/

Lawler got the win for CCH.

Combs 2-4 HR

Slusher 2-3

No hitting stats listed for Stringer

CCH scored the tieing and go ahead runs in the bottom of the 6th on 2 hit batters, 3 walks and two bunts, one a squeeze to tie the game - no hits in the inning.

I predicted CCH winning this game so it's not a surprise to me at all. I think BW is very similar to their team last year. They are very good but the hype around them is much greater than the reality. They were beatable last year and this year seems to be the same. The big 3 deffinatly bring it but I just don't think the supporting cast is consistent enough to get it done day in and day out.

I am curious to what you mean by getting it done done day in and day out. Does that mean winning every game? Who does that in baseball? Getting it done most of the time is what good teams do. Beechwood does that. So does Cov Cath and Dixie and a few others. I think beyond the Big 4 the BW lineup gives you what is expected out of them. I do agree there is a fair amount of hype directed at the sophomores and the team gets tagged with the hype by association. But, when you have numbers like Combs (and others) is putting up this exposure is only natural. BW will win a lot more games than they lose and will be competitive in most every game. IMO, that is consistency.
